I think there's a good possibility that's true. I read in Dr. Huggin's book It's All in Your Head that he had no luck detoxing strict vegetarians, and the only thing I could think of was...it must have been the gluten.

I've been vegan for a year, so I've had no dairy products or eggs. But I sharply increased the amount of grains I was eating and things made from white flour. Plus meat substitutes for vegans and vegetarians are made with wheat gluten. It was the morning after I made some homemade seitan (pure wheat gluten) that I suspected wheat really was a problem, because I woke up with a blinding headache and visual disturbances.

I'm hoping that it really is gluten that is the problem, because I'd hate to have to go back to eating meat! I've had significant improvement in some health areas. I was diabetic for a few years before I went vegan, but now I've lost almost 20 pounds and my blood sugar has been normal without medication.

The dentist I saw said I have a filling that's leaking mercury like mad, and I fear that it has been for a long time because that tooth has been bothering me for a couple years. I want to thank you for stressing the use of Algin in these forums. It was great to see such a change in my rash so fast! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
