Be careful of the cilantro, I know it can cross the blood brain barrier and apparently remove mercury from brain and nervous tissue etc. But I think the worry is, if a person is mercury toxic in their blood/tissue (body area), then the likelihood of the cilantro moving mercury into the brain is high because as it travels through the body, it can pick up mercury on the way and then as it passes the Blood brain barrier, it could be taking more mercury in with it. It's often a better idea to detox the blood/tissues/body with something first. But again, I hear people are receiving benefits from it regardless, so what can I say?

So, you gotta do what you gotta do that fits in with you. I just thought I'd post the possible risks with using it.

Anyway, yeah in regards to the DMSA? Don't worry that you can't use more than 5 mg or that you can't go past 24 hours. This is a story I'm hearing more and more with people and the only way you can do it, is by just doing what you can handle and chipping away at it bit by bit and stopping when you feel things are just too much. You'll do far more damage trying to push yourself into taking it for another day, just to fit in with the protocol.

I'm learning this more and more. I do feel Andy is definitely onto it in regards to the every 4 hours and I understand what he's getting at with taking it for 3 days or longer to avoid the sudden cut off from just using it for one day, because there is always a redistribution that occurs when stopping it but that's not the fault of the person that can't go beyond a day.

Often it's just a case you are too loaded with mercury to force anymore through your system and by the way, if you do? You risk the backfire effect. This is when too much mercury is being moved for the body to catch up with, so it backfires and in a sense, repoisons the person.

the kidney pain is usually from the mercury being moved through and causing them to ache, so at least you know something is definitely happening. Make sure you drink a lot of water to help that. And make sure you're taking antioxidants and other supplements because the stress of chelating depletes them big time. Like vitamin C, vitamin E, B complex, zinc, magnesium and organic flaxseed oil (1 tablespoon) in yoghurt or cottage cheese for the omega 3 oils to help the cell membranes heal. This is what andy recommends people take daily. He says to take the vitamin C, B complex, magnesium 3 - 4 times a day because then they are effective. Also says to take milk thistle too to support the liver and it's an antioxidant also (taken3-4 times a day). But some find the milk thistle can be hard because it tends to stimulate the liver to release even more toxins, others find it helps.

Sorry for the long post.
