Well, I know when I was still eating sugars etc, I was losing more weight because it was feeding my gut organisms, NOT me, plus I lost my appetite completely due to getting worse candida. Some people get the opposite, they gain weight, feed candida, and instead of losing their appetite, they crave and can't stop eating. It can go both ways.
Some put on weight, others lose it. But I can see how people can get very thin on the candida diet! But the way to avoid this is usually making sure you eat fats in teh diet which balance things out again. Like full fat plain acidophilus yoghurt, butter, eating the fat on meat with the meat, raw nuts and seeds, eggs and maybe "some" cheese.
This allows the body to have more nutrition, create more bile and to keep some layers on it. Weight usually balances out as it should be. If I did not eat these fats, I'd be thinner than I am now I think.
If I even eat some fruit or some milk, that will be enough to feed my gut infection. I can't eradicate the gut infection, it will not go, but can only "try" to control it. NOt sure what caused this because I never used to have these gut problems, but now I do all the time.
I cannot afford the threelac etc, I'm financially challenged ...
But antifungals for me were a nightmare when I first used them. They killed so much candida on contact, that mercury was released back into my system and repoisoned me. Very dangerous and not recommended. Threelac is different obviously, but antifungals, even natural ones can be highly risky. But sometimes necessary in acute cases.
I know this much. before I used an antifungal, I was able to improve on diet alone. Once I used antifungals, diet alone now does not give me the improvements, so I gather the yeast inside me got stronger after being attacked wtih antifungals and has a higher resistance than before. That's another reason to not use them, unless you HAVE to.
