How many amalgams do you have and what safety protocol will your dentist be following?
It would be a good idea to avoid making the same mistakes that some of us have with removal while you still have time to get the facts.
Concerning IBS, my main symptom was a crippling stomach pain every few days for over 15 years. (Lower right side). This would build from an initial colicky / spasmodic sensation to severe pain that would last many hours.
Having the fillings removed was like having the electric current in my stomach (and right side of my face) switched off.
It is now 16 months since removal and NOT ONE instance of that awful pain has recurred.
(I must add that I did have a slight disturbance when I tried a tiny bit of Bentonite clay in juice, but this passed fairly quickly and was certainly nothing like the 'locked up' feeling from before.)
From my own continuing research, it seems the highest charged filling was in a tooth connected to the stomach meridian.
I believe a combination of electrical disturbance and mercury particle exposure in the stomach were responsible for the pain and dysfunction.
Unfortunately, brain symptoms (seizures) have now taken the place of the stomach one. (Probably due to the mercury vapour breathed in during removal.)
Again I would advise you to arm yourself with as much info as possible before going under the drill.
Forewarned is forearmed as they say. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
