Mercury detox is a little complicated but here are a few basics that I hope will help... Some supplements expel mercury from organs (ie. the brain, keyneys, etc). Other supplements bind to mercury, hold onto it tight and safely carry it out through your digestive system. You need to use a balance of both types. If you don't, mercury will redistribute and you can get sick. Cilantro expels mercury from certain organs into the blood. Once "mobilized", you need to make sure a binding agent is available to safely carry it out. Algin, one of my favorite supplements, binds and carries the mercury out. Obviously, if you use cilantro, use algin at the same time or you may get sick. Sulphur is another mercury binding agent, BUT it also has the mobilizing action. MSM, nearly all proteins, eggs and some other foods contain sulphur. Chlorella also has BOTH actions. So, both sulpur AND chlorella can make you sick. I have no doubt you're anxious to detox, but I highly recommend doing it slowly and carefully. Mobilize mercury only as much as you can comfortably handle. If you've had amalgam fillings, you've had mercury exposure for years, perhaps decades. Much of this mercury remains in your body so you certainly cannot get it all out at once or even too quickly. Experiment with supplements, adding new ones one-at-a-time to see what makes you sick and what doesn't. I am a strong advocate for slow and natural detox because mercury is just as toxic going in as it is coming out. Hopefully this helps.
