A buzzing bee is sweet music to a flower's, um, petals. Researchers recently discovered that some flowers respond to the frequency of bee wing vibrations by increasing the sugar content of their nectar by 20% within three minutes. The petals appear to act like a satellite dish by channeling the sound, but scientists are unsure exactly what part of the plant receives and translates the transmission. -

Bee buzzing triggers the plant's extra sweet effort, but other sounds do not. The flowers tune out wind, for example, and save their energy for when they hear the bees. Such obvious design is just another example of how we can clearly see the Creator in His Creation. ~~

--The Harvard Study of Adult Development is a decades-long project that's resulted in greater understanding of the importance of health relationships. The research began with a group of 268 sophomores at Harvard University in the 1930s and later expanded to among others, 456 Boston inner-city residents. Researchers have conducted interviews with the participants and pored over their medical records every few years. They discovered that close relationships are the biggest factor in predicting happiness and health. It turns out that if we surround ourselves with the right people, we'll likely experience a deeper sense of joy.

This appears to reflect what the apostle Paul is describing in Philippians 1. Writing from prison, Paul can't help but tell his friends that he thanks God for them every time he remembers them, praying "with joy" (v.4). But these aren't just any friends; these are brothers and sisters in Jesus "who share in God's grace," partners in the Gospel with Paul (v.7). Their relationship was one of sharing and mutuality--a true fellowship shaped by ?God's love and the Gospel itself.

Yes, friends are important, but fellow companions in Christ are catalysts of a true and deep joy. The grace of God can bind us together like nothing else. And even through the darkest seasons of life, the joy that comes from that bond will last. Even to eternity.....

"Lord God, thank You for the gift of friendship. Help me to express my gratitude to those who have been faithful companions to me. Give me the grace to strengthen and encourage them. In our Lord's Name."

--Israel has developed 2 new promising drugs in the fight against Covid-19. The drugs, EXO-CD24 and Allocetra, have been used in clinical trials at Hadassah University Medical Center and Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center. Treating moderate to severe cases, EXO-CD24 stops the "cytokine storm" in the lungs. 30 severe patients participated in the clinical trial, and 29 of them improved within 2 to 3 days, .

The treatment can be produced quickly and at a very low cost. The other drug, Allocetra, has gone through multiple clinical trials, including one with 16 severe and critical Covid patients , 14 of whom recovered within 5 days.

---One Day as a Thousand Years

“Beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”- (2 Peter 3:8)

----It is sad that many Christians today are so eager to appear intellectual they are willing to compromise God’s clear revelation to do so. God has made it as clear as plain words could make it that “in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is” (Exodus 20:11). Yet because evolutionary “science” has alleged that the earth is billions of years old, multitudes of evangelicals have fallen in line, rejecting God’s plain statement of fact and then trying to find some interpretive loophole to hide behind.

Our text verse is perhaps the key verse of the so-called “progressive creationists” who try to correlate the days of creation in Genesis with the supposed 4.6 billion-year system of evolutionary geological ages by citing Peter as agreeing that “one day is a thousand years.”

No, Peter is saying that “one day is with the Lord as a thousand years”! That is, God can do in one day what might, by natural processes, take a thousand years. In context, the apostle is condemning the last-day uniformitarians (those who teach that “all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation”) as “willingly ignorant” of the tremendous significance of the historical facts of creation and the Flood (2 Peter 3:3-6). Real written records only go back a few thousand years, and to attempt to calculate any date before that requires use of a premise that, in context, the Scriptures have just condemned!

God says the uniformitarians are willingly ignorant and then urges those who believe His Word to “be not ignorant.” The only way we can know the date and duration of creation is for God to tell us, and He says He made all of heaven and Earth in six days, and not so long ago!
