i went to see David Harvie Austin today to get a cavitation cleaned out. The tooth was extracted a few weeks ago and he found 2 cavitation sights and some really sharp bone on the side of my gum, i have to go back Friday to have stitches taken out and another panoramic xray. Im feeling really jumpy and depressed due to being in a dental office, i took loads of Algin before and after, i feel as though i need a sedative though cos i feel really weird, i hope this feeling goes soon.

Hi Dawn. Hope that you feel better. I felt bad for about a month after having my tooth extracted and the socket cleaned, but I think it has helped in the long term with getting a period. Austin doesn't invent problems, though, at least in my experience. I've seen him several times and he only points out things I know that are wrong. I'm feeling really sore after having a filling done, my lips, tongue and gums have ulcers. I can hardly talk and having difficulty eating. I'm taking mouthwash, bonjela every 4 hours and just taking it easy because my energy levels are low from little food. I'm having to use a straw to drink. Dental work is no fun!

Sandi, yes its me from the yeast connection. Demi, yeh, i hate going to the dentist, i panicked on the way there as i couldn't find the place, i asked lots of people and they all gave me different directions. In the end i burst into tears in the street, looked up and there it was. Its lucky i went, it could have turned into something horrible. He says i have a bad bite, another problem! he said that people can blame all their symptoms on amalgam but its not always the case, although that might be true, i didn't want to hear it at the time, i was feeling alittle negative and panicky probably due to being late and mercury vapours. He gave me some special stuff to clean it with plus some aloe vera gel, i have to go back friday to get stitches out. Im feeling pretty rough today, a bit depressed and my tinnitus has spiked up. Hope you feel okay soon demi, cheers.

Sorry you are feeling rough. Hopefully you'll feel better once it's started healing. My tinnitus is worse aswell after going to the dentist. I think we get exposure just from going there.
I think it's difficult to know what health problems are amalgam related and dentists don't want to commit themselves either way. If they say it is amalgam and it isn't, they could get sued or be called into a law-suit. This is one reason why it's hard to take a mercury poisoning case to court - no expert will put their head on the block. I think we can just follow our instinct, get support here and other mercury groups, and try not to let it get us down if others don't share our opinion or are being tight lipped over it.
I'm feeling a little better today. My mouth gets sore very easily. I have a bad bite aswell.

Im still feeling a bit nervous and anxious and tinitus is with me day and night, not as bad as the day i went though. Do you have to wear a splint for your bad bite, its the frst time this has been mentioned to me, i have to tell the ENT. Thanks

Hi Dawn. I had to wear a double retainer brace every night for 3 years when I was younger to try and correct the bite. This was clear pastic and held both the upper and lower jaw in a certain position for as long as I had it in the mouth and I couldn't talk or eat with it. I'd wear it about 10 hours a day (which I don't think was good for mercury fillings as it probably released more vapour). Austin suggested that I see an orthodontic to complete the process, but right now I just don't have the money. But I might go eventually to see if there's anything more than can be done naturally. I have an overbite and my back teeth (at least the ones I have left, lol) don't meet properly.

Demi, my top teeth are more foreward than my bottom teeth, is this an over bite? Do you get treatment on the NHS for this do you know? Thanks.

Hi Dawn. That is an overbite - same problem I have. I don't know if there is treatment on the NHS. There is, or used to be, for children, but I don't know about adults. You could try and find out, but the standard may not be any better than NHS dentists - in other words, not worth going to. Austin talked to me about an orthodontist who uses natural materials, so you could ask him more about that and the safety of NHS materials. Some specialists recommend breaking the jaws and extending them with metal, for example - which could cause a host of problems in the long and short term.

I went back today and had a panoramic xray done, the dentist, Dr Austin, saw that i need another cavitation site drilled out (a big one) so i will be getting this done in 3 weeks. It never ends, the composite fillings will have to wait.

Hope that you are feeling better. I need to have some pressing dental work done aswell. It will probably be next year before all the amalgams are gone. Did you previously have root canals at the sites?

Hi Dawn, keep us posted on how the cavitations go and how you feel. I am very interested. I am in such a bad way and have no help in my own country in this area. I will probably need to travel to USA to have my cavitations done properly. This could cost me 10,000 NZ dollars, which will put me in debt for years. But I am desperate.
Sadly, my horrific sensitivity to mercury vapor, has left me in a terrible state after a recent dental visit, so I cannot even travel now to go get cavitations done and then another exposure to mercury vapor once I get into another dental office will probably finish me off at this point, even though I haven't had mercury amalgams for years, dental offices are dangerous to me.
But I really hope you can get improvements from having yours cleaned out. I have a loathing towards dentists, they simply ruin people's lives.

Demi, the big cavitation site, there were no root canals. On the xray, you can see outlines of where the roots of my teeth were, which means they havnt healed over, he is going to open it all up. Bex, this is a complete nightmare, im going from one thing to the other. I also feel poisoned again, i feel so weird and fearful again and i have to keep going back there for checkups, with cavitations you have to have them checked for healing after a few days, then weeks, also more xrays to see how its healed. Getting to london on my own with my anxiety is not easy, its a crowded horrible place, i cant wait to get home. If i had the money, what i would have done is go to Mexico, i have seen the prices and air flights, it would work out cheaper, plus i would get to see the US which would be a dream. But because i already had work done and its cost me so much and has all gone wrong, i cant afford the flight. Bex, im always thinking of you, keep us posted.

HI Dawn, I feel for you. I am going insane with symptoms and going from one thing to another and if any improvement ever seems like it might be happening oneday, I will collapse back into some other horrible nightmare.
I wish I had never had wisdom teeth removed, I didn't even have to do it, but the dentist said I should.
At any rate, it's done and I have no real hope now because nobody will help me here and I cannot afford the USA trip. Even if I did go, I wouldn't cope with the trip itself, or another dental visit.
I wish I could wake up from this and things could be how they were. I too am suffering panic attacks and bizzare fears. It is horrible. I just hope you can get through this because it's just unbelieveable and at times I wonder if I can keep going to be honest.
take care and keep in touch.

This is a like a nightmare with no end, I will pray that you all find a solution to your problems, sometimes I wonder if I can keep going too. They say where there is a will, there is a way, so let us hope that we all find our way.
Best love and blessings to all of you, Sandi
