---SOMETHING TO BOAST ABOUT ~~~
--"I will not boast about myself, except about my weaknesses. Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say." ---[2 Corinthians 12:5-6 /NIV] -- :
--Paul is an interesting character. We know that he was a Roman citizen but from a devout Jewish family. His formidable intellect must have been noticed when he was young because he “studied under Gamaliel and was thoroughly trained in the law” (Acts 22:3). Paul spoke several languages and was able to communicate with people from all levels of first-century society. He was a rising star in the religious establishment when Jesus met him on the Damascus Road with an assignment that would change his life’s course completely. To say he was making an impact for the Kingdom of God would be a massive understatement. Yet Paul only mentioned these things to show the power of God to change a person’s life. Many of us would be tempted to boast about our background, intellect, and training. But what Paul wanted to talk about most was the transforming power of Jesus. THINK ABOUT ITIf you cannot yet make Paul’s declaration, ask the Lord to help you arrive to the place where you cannot imagine anything greater to boast of in your life except for the impact Jesus and His work on the cross has made. PRAYERHeavenly Father, help me be so centered in You and my life transformation through the cross that nothing else can compare in value. May all of my life reflect Jesus and the resurrection power of Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, amen.--WOC/AJ~
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." [John 14:6]
