FDA Warns J&J Vaccine Causes Your Immune System To Attack Your Nervous SystemThe US Food and Drug Administration has warned that Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose Covid-19 vaccine can cause Guillain-Barre syndrome, a rare disorder where the immune system attacks the nervous system and can result in paralysis.
The FDA warning marks another setback for a vaccine that was temporarily suspended from use in April on concern that it could cause dangerous blood clots.
The US CDC and FDA lifted their recommended pause on use of Johnson & Johnson’s coronavirus vaccine with a condition that it will now include a safety label warning that its vaccine comes with blood clot risks.
The FDA’s updated fact sheet (read below) for the Johnson & Johnson jab advises recipients of the vaccine to immediately seek medical attention if they experience any of the following symptoms: weakness or tingling sensations, especially in the legs or arms; difficulty walking; difficulty with bladder control or bowel function; double vision or inability to move eyes; or difficulty with facial movements, such as speaking, chewing and swallowing.
