--"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful>" ---(Colossians 3:15) --
---"Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened" (Romans 1:21). These verses help to explain why it is so important to rejoice in the Lord always, and to bring our requests to God "in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving."
What should our thanksgiving to God include? Thanksgiving for Jesus. Thanksgiving for faithful brethren. Thanksgiving for God's mercy and faithfulness every day.
If we are thankful, our lives will proclaim the glory of the One we are following . When this happens, we are like a beacon on a hill, giving an inviting light to this dark world.
Philippians 4:7 says that "the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." How wonderful it is to have this peace! It is only when we are thankful to God for what He has done that His peace will flood our soul.. As we are thankful and rejoicing in God, we can give a bright, consistent witness. Are we dong this as we should? We are the only Bible that some folks read. We need to be a thankful people sot that when seekers observe us, we influence them in the right way. --"Jesus is the same yesterday and today and forever."--[Hebrews 13:8]
