~~ALWAYS IN HIS SHADOW ~`

--"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!”

--The psalmist reminds us that we dwell under the Shelter of the Most High. I’ve been in some terrible storms in my life, and I know the relief that comes when you run into a shelter. The storms of life will surely come, but we dwell under the protection of the Most High God. The psalmist also says we abide in the shadow of the Almighty. Have you ever tried to stand in someone’s shadow? It requires you to stand so close that there is virtually no space between you. That is what God wants for us—to stand so near to Him that nothing can come between us. No matter what comes, remember that Almighty God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, is your protector. You are not alone, nor are you left to depend on your own strength or your own cleverness. The Lord of lords and King of kings is our refuge and our fortress, and that is a remarkable thing.

THINK ABOUT IT
Dwelling and abiding suggest a lifestyle of habitation, not temporary residency based on circumstance. God wants us to dwell and abide in Him, settled by our trust that He is our Protector.

PRAYER
--"Heavenly Father, forgive me when I have trusted in anything else besides You for provision and protection. I hand over all of my trust to You, asking You to shelter me and help me live so close to You that I am always in Your shadow. In Jesus’ name, amen. --
