Interesting question.
Bile is involved in the breakdown of fats and stimulation of peristaltic action in the colon. Bile production is reduced in mercury toxic persons.
My experience (Laura had the same experience) with this involved the fact that, before my fillings were out, I would get the following symptoms after eating fatty foods such as beef or butter:
- Headache
- Brain fog
- Achy joints
- Lethargy
- Cold skin
After doing some research, I realized these symptoms were associated with un-emulsified fats in the blood. These fats cause red blood cells to stick together and thus prevents the flow of blood through many smaller capillaries. This, in turn, causes oxygen starvation for cells that are fed by capillaries, such as in the joints, skin, eyes, brain, etc. and causes pain in the same.
As with so many of the other mercury symptoms I had, to combat the problem, I researched and found a supplement that prevented these fats from being absorbed. This supplement, called
Fat Grabbers, completely relieved the lethargy and pain after eating fatty foods for both me and Laura. It really was amazing how much of a difference it made.
Well, the best part of the story is that once our amalgams were removed, we no longer needed to take Fat Grabbers. I went from taking them for nearly every meal to now, where I only take them, perhaps once a month if I have a particularly fatty meal.
In my personal opinion, working with the
Milk Thistle is the best way to go, slowly increasing it as you become better able to handle it. As your liver begins to work better, I would think that bile would increase.
If you suffer constipation as a result of decreased bile, you can compensate with
Magnesium,
Food Enzymes, and, optionally, supplemental
Fiber.
When our amalgams were still in, since bile also contains lecithin, we would occasionally take
Lecithin to relieve the these symptoms, and it worked, but not as well as the Fat Grabbers.
