--MY GRANDDAUTHER'S DOG knows my voice. And my name. All dog lovers will understand. I don't see Sadie very often, but she "knows" that I'm family.

If my daughter says, "Sadie, Grammie's coming," the dog will run to the door, sit and wait for me. We know that Jesus knows our names. He is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. There is nothing that He does not know. We can talk to Jesus 24/7's.

When Sadie sees me climbing the steps toward the house, she starts a wiggle pattern that won't stop until long after I've greeted her. rubbed her belly, picked her up, and snuggled her like a baby.
When we call out to Jesus, He is always available and listening to hear our voice acknowledging His presence. He stands open-armed for our calling.

It was no flippant choice of wording when Jesus used to answer the always oppositional Jewish leaders who surrounded Him in the temple, badgering Him to tell them once and for all if He was the Messiah. Jesus said, "I have told you, but you don't believe...because you don't belong to my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice. I know them and they follow me" (John 10:25-27 / CEB).

Jesus not only understood that the opposition couldn't grasp the truth, but that those who did grasp the truth about Him would have an automatic response. At the sound of His voice, they would follow. That's the expectation and the longing of Jesus' heart.

We know Him because Jesus revealed Himself to us. We've heard his voice, and we follow, matching our stride and pace with His. Let's keep in step with our Lord, Savior, Redeemer and King above all kings, Jesus Christ!

--"Lord Jesus, thank You for redeeming our soul from eternal destruction. Help us, Sovereign One, to stay close to You in these end times. We humbly bow before You, our King above all kings. Hallelujah! In Christ's Name.~amen"
