---"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwork."
---(Psalm 19:1) --

--Many of us remember the total eclipse of the sun that crossed the United States in August 2017. It was an awesome sight for those in the path of totality.
Long in advance, scientists had calculated the exact minute the moon's shadow would sweep in over the coast of Oregon and the exact minute it would leave the coast of South Carolina. We were privileged to view it in central South Carolina at exactly 3:36 P.M. EDT. Someone reported that a few atheists met elsewhere in South Caroline to celebrate the wisdom of the scientists who had figured all this out.

It is indeed amazing that scientists can predict the details of eclipses so precisely. Yet how could they determine them without an extremely precise and orderly universe? One would think that if the universe began with an explosion (the big bang theory), the things in it would be chaotic, not orderly. And so this eclipse was a clear declaration of the glory and handiwork of an awesome God as depicted in today's Bible reading.

God's knowledge is infinite, and Psalm 19 proclaims two "books" of His knowledge. One is the orderly universe (verses 1-2), and the other is the written Word of God (verses 7-8). Let's allow this awesome God to be our strength and our Redeemer (verse 14). If we let Him change us into His image, we also will display His marvelous handiwork.

The next total solar eclipse visible in the United States will begin in Mexico, sweep across Texas and the central states, and end in eastern Canada. This event is to occur on April 8, 2020. Scientists promise that it will be even more magnificent than the last one.
Will God as our Creator get due credit? YES! JESUS LIVES! Come on people, give King Jesus all glory! \o/ ~
