--WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?

--"If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

~~~Friends, who are Jewish by both race and faith, said to me, “It has occurred to us that while we are born Jews, you must choose to be a Christian.” They are correct. We have to choose to believe that Jesus is the Christ—the Messiah—and the Son of God. This verse is an “if” verse: “If” you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and—even though it’s not restated—“if” you believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. The issue at the heart of being a Christian is what you believe about the Person of Jesus. He can’t just be a good man, or a prophet, or a teacher, or a healer, because if He was just those things He was a liar and a deceiver. Each of us needs to settle that the core of our experience as a Christ-follower is not church loyalty or denominational affiliation or even family ties, but a sincere and life-altering belief that Jesus is the Christ.

THINK ABOUT IT
What do you believe about the Person of Jesus? Is He truly Lord of your life? If so, are you willing to confess that He is Lord, and say it out loud to others?

PRAYER
~~"Heavenly Father, I believe Your Son, Jesus, is the Christ, and that He died for my sin and was resurrected. Therefore, I repent of my sin, confess that Jesus is Lord, and commit to following Him and telling others of His redemptive power. In Jesus’ name, amen." JESUS IS LORD!
