--MIKE PENCE CALLS FOR PRAYER / Vice-President

--At the National Day of Prayer, on May 7, Vice-President Pence called Americans to be persistent in prayer regarding the pandemic, advising that he and his wife often hear people tell him that they are praying for him. He said, "We can attest firsthand that America is a nation of prayer. Prayer is the core that runs through every area of American history. In 1775 the Second Continental Congress established a day of fasting and prayer. In 1863 President Abraham Lincoln urged Americans to pray so that a united cry of the nation would be heard on high and answered with a blessing. Since 1952 every president has issued a proclamation in honor of the National Day of Prayer. As we pray for the American people, He'll [Lord God] hear from heaven and heal this land."
