~~~It’s fun to watch a human learn to walk. First, we push up on our hands and knees. Then, we learn to crawl. Next, we pull up, and then one day, we overcome our doubt and decide to take a step. Our journey toward trust in God is a little like that. When we’re birthed into the Kingdom of God, we’re still bound by inexperience and the gravitational pull of doubt. Yes, we’re a part of the family of God, but we haven’t learned how to step out in faith and explore the opportunities of His Kingdom. This is not automatic for any of us. It requires us to decide that we will trust Him with the future and take a risk. All of us will still stumble occasionally and struggle to believe that God will come through for us, but as we step out in faith we will gain our footing and eventually learn to walk with confidence. I can say with complete honesty that when I have decided to trust God and take a step, He has rewarded my faith in Him—every time.

THINK ABOUT IT
What would “stepping out in faith” look like for you? Ask God for the next step He has assigned to you. His Holy Spirit will give you the help you need.

PRAYER
~~"Heavenly Father, I am Your child. Hold my hand as I learn to step out in faith. Give me courage that dares to trust and go, guided by Your wisdom and counsel. May doubt not stall my obedience. Help me walk by faith in You. In Jesus’ name, amen."
