Hi, I've read the thread and responses here and I was wondering the following:

1. What is the rationale for diamondlite being safer than any other material considering that (a) we don't know it's EXACT make up and (b) other materials can be easily tested for their compatibility.

2. How can Dr H-Austin clean cavitations when he doesn't have the correct diagnostic tools available (cavitat scan).

3. if you accept that mercury vapour can remain in the dentinal tubules after amalgam has been removed then how can a dentist be sure he has done the right job without using a mercury vapour analyser?

Also, what price do you put on your health. I would not necessarily be guided by the price of a dentist (I appreciate some are very expensive) but who you feel most comfortable with. I would ask what Dr H-Austin has actually done in his role as President of the British Mercury Free Dental association. It is actually websites like this that are promoting more awareness.

I know that sedation may be daunting but this is surely to make the dentist be able to do the best job possible. Also consider that damaged nerves can happen when a patient is awake or asleep.

I only make these points from my own experiences. I would be happy to discuss them further with anyone and likewise would be grateful if anybody has any further, useful information to add.
