"He was in the world, and though the world was made through him; the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." ---(JOHN 1:10-12/ NIV)) --
~~Jesus came into the world, but the world and the religious leaders didn't recognize Him. That seems nearly impossible. They knew the Law. But Jesus didn't meet their expectation's. Their vision of the Messiah is a political, military deliverer who will drive out the Romans and restore autonomy and independence to Israel.
Jesus shows up with a message about the Kingdom of God, and they don't recognize Him. It sobers me, because when we fail to recognize Him, we reject Him. And when we reject God, there's a consequence attached. The good news is that for all who do receive Him, there is nearly indescribable payoff with eternal rewards: "the right to become children of God." The decision each of us makes about Jesus truly is the most important decision we will ever make. ~~
--"Heavenly Father, I thank You for the right to become a child of God. Forgive me for the places I've rejected You. I want to be open to hearing Your voice and being obedient to it. Thank You, LORD, that You called me to this great inheritance. Thank You that I can be useful in Your Kingdom, no matter my past. I yield my life to You, for Your purposes to emerge. I am trusting Your plan for my life, in spite of my inconsistencies and failures, for You are a great G-D. Thank You, Lord, for saving me and using me for Your glory. In Jesus's name, amen. ~~ --Turn Up The Light/AJ~
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." [John 14:6]
