---SUBMIT YOUR WILL TO GOD ~~ TRUST HIM COMPLETELY ~ ~~'He said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” ------(Matthew 26:38-39 / NIV)-- ~~~We cannot fully comprehend the struggle that Jesus faced that night on Gethsemane. Yet that night was as much about the disciples, and those of us who would someday be disciples, as it was about Jesus. Jesus, being fully God and fully man, shared His night of sorrow and agony on Gethsemane in order to show His very real struggle with obedience. What happened there is very carefully recorded so that we will understand each of us will eventually have to come to Gethsemane for ourselves. We are hard-wired to say, “I want it my way!” But the heart of being a Christ-follower is a willingness to submit our will to the will of God. Submitting to Him in the small things and the big things―if it was necessary for Jesus, it is necessary for you and me. THINK ABOUT IT~~Submitting to the Lord is easier when we trust His goodness, wisdom, and love. Yielding will still take self-discipline, but the courage and strength to obey will come to those who trust Him. PRAYER~~"Heavenly Father, what You ask of me will always be marked by Your goodness, wisdom, and love. Give me strength and courage to yield to Your choices, and reveal any place where I am saying no to You. Take all of me, Lord, and help me to always pray firstly before making decisions. Not my will but Yours be done. In Jesus’ name, amen."Blessings, Pastor Allen Jackson ~~~~~~~~~
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." [John 14:6]
