--SHOWING HONOR ~~
-"Love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor." -(Romans 12:10 / NRSV)--
~~"You're a good man, Bert." My husband looked at me in surprise. After the morning we'd had, he didn't expect to hear these words--at least not until he'd spent more time in the doghouse. Even though I wasn't feeling a lot of love and admiration for my husband at that moment, I knew he loved me; and I didn't want my unforgiving attitude to damage our relationship.
It was incredible how quickly our day improved once I changed my attitude. Every time I choose to honor Bert rather than chiding him about something or giving him the silent treatment, I feel better about him, myself, and our marriage. I'm sure he feels the same way when he responds kindly after I've been unkind to him. From what I've heard from others, I know we're not the only people who could benefit from today's quoted verse. I especially love the part, "outdo one another in showing honor."
Rather than keeping score with our spouse, sibling, co-worker, or friend, we can instead ask our Lord Jesus to show us new ways to love and honor those around us--especially on the days when they need affection and respect the most. ~~ ~~"Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins." --[1 Peter 4:8 - / NASB]--UPPER ROOM/SHB~--"LOVELY" / Chris Tomlin //< https://youtu.be/CWe-fLVgkUQ> ~~~~~~~~~
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." [John 14:6]
