----WARFARE ~~

"Our struggle is...against the powers,...
against the spiritual forces of wickedness
in the heavenly places." ~ (Ephesians 6:12)

---IN TODAY'S verse, the apostle Paul described the spiritual battle in which all Christians are engaged. He used words like "powers" and "spiritual forces" to indicate the supernatural nature of the conflict. Whether we realize it or not, we're in the fight of our lives.

~~~Yes, we know Jesus is ultimately victorious. But in the daily frustrations and discouragements, we must realize that Satan's agents are actively making war with us--attempting to undermine our faith in God and our impact on the world. We tend to focus our anger on other people, situations, and even ourselves--on things that are seen. But this struggle against spiritual forces is real, and we must understand its unseen source in order to engage it successfully.

First Peter 5:8-9 admonishes, "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith." In other words, be aware of the battle and fight it spiritually. Win it with unshakable trust in Jehovah G-D. He is the One who fights for us. Stay firm in the Word, God's Holy Bible Because only in this way will you be truly victorious. ~~

--"Lord Jesus, empower me to be victorious in the spiritual warfare that assails me. You have said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you'. I know right now you are with me, and all Your followers until the end of time. No, I am not alone. 'Even so, Come Lord Jesus.' ~~Amen~~
