--At the end of August, Facebook tagged two videos posted by the pro-life organization Live Action as "false news." Both videos stated that abortion is never medically necessary, a claim attested to by more than 1,000 physicians in a signed statement.
Facebook's fact-checking mechanism deemed the videos "inaccurate" based on commentary by two abortionists, Daniel Grossman and Robyn Schickler.
Lila Rose, founder and president of Live Action, reported that Facebook informed her that her personal Facebook page and any links to Live Action's website now have "reduced distribution and other restrictions because of repeated sharing of false news."
"Not only did they fail to get disinterested perspectives," said Rose, "they appear to have gone out of their way to find pro-abortion activists whose public opposition to view our views is indisputable."
