I am pre mercury removal and I have to say this is the most confusing thing I have ever undertaken in my life. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> I have one doctor that says she will chelate with EDTA. Another says chelate with Penicillamine. Another says trans- dermal glutiathione and DMPS. Another says never use DMPS - it is far too toxic. Andrew Cutler says not to use any of these, only his method. Whew!

My questions are:

1) Do I use Algin before mercury removal?

2) Has anyone successfully used Cutler's protocol? I have the book and every time I look at it I get a panic attack because it is so darn confusing. He really scares you when he talks about suicide and metal hospitals. I have yet to find one person that has done his protocol successfully.

3) My "biological" dentist does not use a dental dam. He says mercury can get trapped underneath it and the way he does it ensures no mercury goes down your throat. Has anyone had a dentist like this? Should I run like hell?

4) I have taken huge quantities of ALA (600 mg) for weeks at a time and had no ill effect. Could this mean mercury isn't even my problem? Does this mean when I try to chelate after mercury removal that I will be able to tolerate ALA?

5) What about root canals. Should they always come out?

Thanks so much everyone. I am so glad to have this forum to discuss what I am going through with others like me. I know there is a post saying other people just don't understand this illness. What an understatement! I haven't even told my family I am doing this and putting the cost of amalgam removal on my home equity line. They would think I am totally insane.

Have a great day everyone. Thanks for the info!
