On the 15th of September there was a Vaccination Conference held in Canberra and the next day there was a health freedom rally in front of Parliament House. For those who haven’t seen any footage and photos from the event please check out the links below

The conference was sold out and more than lived up to expectations.
The speakers were powerful and afterwards was an incredible time for networking with like-minded people.
This set the scene nicely for the rally the next day.

The rally was interesting from the very beginning.
Unbeknownst to us, the Prime Minister of Fiji was arriving at Parliament house that morning for a visit.
There was heightened security and there were cannons set up in front of Parliament house for the official welcome.

There were marching bands and lots of pomp and ceremony.
We were barred from being too close to any of this action

A V is for Vaccine protest had been organised (see photos with costumes and placards, idea courtesy of Josh Coleman in the USA) and photographs had to be taken quickly, as we had to clear the area when the cannons went off.

There was another group protesting the same day, a group of Doctors protesting climate change. That was fortuitous as it gave members of our group a chance to speak to some of the doctors about concerns with the current vaccination program and policy in this country.

Speeches were given, once again they were powerful and insightful and ultimately inspiring. After this there was a march around to the road in front of parliament house, which allowed for chanting with a megaphone.
Tay Winterstein did a mighty job of leading the chanting for a long time.
There were lots of parents with their young children in attendance and the energy of the crowd was truly amazing.
After a few more speeches most attendees left, but a few stayed on to go into Parliament house. There were some interesting adventures within Parliament house. All the security guards knew who we were. Some rally attendees who went to watch the lower house sitting were put into a sound proof room “Just in case they made a disturbance.”
Overall, it was an incredible and successful event and we will definitely have to rally in Canberra again!

Do you want a film screening near you?
We have had many, many people asking us to bring film screenings to their area and, whilst we are happy that you are interested, we also need you to be aware that putting on events such as this are both expensive and a lot of hard work!
Neither of these issues have stopped us before, but we are asking those who would like screenings to please contact us at avnenquiries@avn.org.au to say what area you live in and how many hours you will be available to help us in organising the event. We also hope that if we do bring the screening (or a seminar) to your area, you will be able to help publicise it amongst your networks to make it as well-attended as possible.
The AVN is a network meaning we need to work together with you - our community - to spread this message as far as possible.
We appreciate your help and commitment.
