Please welcome the AVN's New President:
Aneeta Hafemeister
At the AVN AGM held on the 30th of June I was elected to the position of President. This is an incredible honour and I look forward to representing the AVN to the best of my ability.
Many thanks to Meryl Dorey for her hard work and dedication, not just as President, but in all the roles she has filled at the AVN over the past 25 years. She is an incredibly passionate, intelligent and courageous person and I am very grateful that she remains on the committee to offer her experience and insight.
For those who don’t know me (most of you I suspect) I have been on the AVN committee since 2014. If you attended the Vaxxed tour screenings you may remember me as the lady manning the book table or scanning your tickets. 
I grew up on a beef cattle property in North Queensland. I attended boarding school in Charters Towers and then completed a Bachelor of Animal Science at James Cook University in Townsville in 2001. My husband and I have 4 children and we own a beef cattle property in Central Queensland. 
Like most people, I grew up believing that vaccines were the saviour of mankind. However, as a teenager I met a young woman who had been permanently brain damaged by a DTP vaccine she received as a young child. This caused me to doubt the safety claims of those promoting vaccinations.
When I had my first child, I allowed her to be administered the Hepatitis B vaccine and vitamin K injection at birth, despite my motherly instincts telling me not to. My daughter screamed endlessly and projectile vomited for the first few weeks of her life, which I was told was normal. Babies cry and spit up, right? 
I did not take my daughter back for any more vaccines and was very fortunate to have a family friend loan me a copy of the book Vaccination Roulette, which was published by the AVN. That began my research journey and was also the catalyst for me becoming an AVN member. I bought several copies of almost every book that the AVN stocked. 
After extensive research, my husband and I made the decision not to vaccinate any further and our 3 youngest children have not received any vaccines and enjoy great health. I find it abhorrent that making an informed decision for my family now means that the government can treat us as second-class citizens. 
As you are all aware, this is a crucial time in our battle to maintain the right to make medical decisions for our families. The AVN will continue to work hard to ensure that all parents have the information they need to make an informed decision around vaccination. Whether you vaccinate, partially vaccinate, or choose not to vaccinate, your decision should be respected.
For those who read the previous AVN newsletter (I highly recommend it) you would know there is an exciting new project announcement to be made by the AVN very soon, so stay tuned!
A reminder for those in the Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast areas to get your tickets for the Gardasil documentary nights to be held on the 5th, 6th and 7th of July. I look forward to meeting the attendees at these events.

The video is full of jaw-dropping facts about Gardasil and the clinical trials leading up to its release upon an unsuspecting public.

Following the film, there will be a live Q & A session where many of your questions about the HPV virus, the Gardasil and the Gardasil 9 vaccine and other issues surrounding this topic can be answered.
There will be 3 screenings as follows:
Doors open at 6:30 and the film starts promptly at 7:00 PM so please make sure to be on time.
There will be books, videos and t-shirts for sale and dinner will be available for purchase from 5:30 PM if you would like to come early for that purpose.
