Hello everybody

Please pardon my ignorance but can anybody please explain what people mean when they talk about floaters, describe them maybe? I think i might have them but not sure because i keep seeing "spots" if you like, in my peripheral vision but only recently and my amalgams have all been removed. Is it possible to experience new symptoms months post removal? Id greatly appreciate some clarification here.

Thanks all!

Yes, it could be floaters, they can be spots, or insect looking, or even cobweb like. I have them, although they are getting better, i had loads last year, then when i got 3 fillings removed they got a bit better and my eyesight returned to normal, but then recently since getting more fillings done i seem to have got a few more. Yes i think you can experience new symptoms post removal.

Thanks so much Dawn,

I was going to say they look like spiders, but i thought people would think im crazy. i keep on thinking im seeing spiders out the corners of my eye and i get such a fright but then theres nothing there. was so scared i was losing my mind.

Do you see yours out the corner of your eyes aswell or directly where you are looking?

Thank you....how are you feeling by the way?

Hi, i normally see them directly in front, at one time i had them so bad that i couldn't look at white walls, and as all the walls in my house were white i was going to paint them a darker colour because seeing these floaters was really getting on my nerves.
Im not too bad, lately, had some really good days, i feel human again, thanks for asking, Dawn.

You've got to be careful with those floaters. I've had them for years, and they were not cleared up when my amalgams were removed. But, if you start seeing spiders etc. you should hurry to an ophthalmologist immediately, because those spiders can mean a tear in the retina which can/will result in blindness if not surgically/laser corrected.

Hi Dawn, glad you're feeling better

Thanks anonymous, thats not good news at all.
I dont get them all the time, only when my mercury symptoms peak and then they disappear.

Just to clarify, I dont see real spiders like an hallucination, they're just sorta shaped that way and move that way to.

Would you mind telling me what yours are like? Dont mean to sound nosy, would just like to know what others experience's are?

Thank you .... Take care

I just have varying sizes of black dots. My husband is the same. When he got the spiders, that's when he had a retinal tear. He didn't have it for long, as he went right away to see the eye dr. and then for laser surgery.

I've had floaters since I got amalgams. I've never been without them since, which is now 20 years. Some days there are worse than others, but they are always there.

For me they are like floating cells, clear but with shadows. Some are single, others are joined up together. They float before my eyes, but only in sunlight, or when I look at the sky or something white. Sometimes they are thick and move with my eye, but far more slowly.

Interestingly, since I have been totally gluten free the past 3 days, they seem a little better. I was taking a walk this evening and I was surprised at how clear my vision seemed. I'm continuing gluten free for the moment to see if this is helping, although I've never read of there being a connection.

PS anyone else been having trouble accessing the forum? This is the first time I was able to get here since Tuesday. When I tried all I got was a blank page.

I don't know if it was the gluten-free helping as I had bad floaters today. I'm going back on low-gluten (i.e having a gluten-free product if possible, like cornflakes) for the moment. Not been well today with a stomach bug (vomitng and diarhea (spelling)), but don't know the cause of it.

I have not had trouble getting on to the forum, just logging in.

Demi, if you want to be totallly gluten free, you must read labels. For me, this is a necessity, as I have Celiac Sprue and gluten brings on a lot of pain. Most corn flakes have gluten in them in at least one form - malt. There are websites that tell you all the additives you must avoid to avoid all gluten. You'll have to search, as I do not remember them. Of course, you may not want to/have to be this picky.

Demi: I had trouble Friday...All I got was a blank page, also.
My floaters look like hairs and/or bubbles floating in a petri dish---kind of translucent. I almost always see them against the blue sky,,,and when I focuse on them, they move.

My floaters definitely increased over time until I had my amalgams removed. After I got my amalgams out, they didn't get any worse, but they didn't really get any better.

The last year or so, they've actually improved for the first time. I started taking 2 Bilberry Fruit Concentrate tablets and 2 Perfect Eyes capsules, both twice a day. Not only have the floaters gradually diminished (not completely, but noticeably), but my vision seems to have improved slightly as well. I'm typically on my computer 8-12 hours-a-day and I don't get the usual eyestrain or focus problems that I used, when I'm taking these two herbal products on a daily basis.

My mother has also noticed a difference...she has a problem with her retina and these herbs really help her vision.

Here's a link to where you can get both products:

Bilberry tablets (60)
Perfect Eyes capsules (60)

If anyone is worried about macular degeneration, they I'd also recommend adding extra Lutein

I've had a large floater in my right eye for about six months now. It looks clear and I only see it in very bright sunlight or when looking at white walls. Although, since having my fillings removed I've not noticed its presence so much. I find that my eyes get very blurry when I eat sugar or have the occasional glass of wine.
