I am scheduled to have my 5 silver fillings removed on Thursday, but received my hair analysis back today and it does not show a high level of Mercury (actually it is .03). It does show my copper and iron levels are below normal and some of the toxic ratios are high (se/hg, s/hg, Zn/Hg) but nothing else. Do I still get the fillings removed?? The procedure is going to cost me $2,500.00 and dont want to spend the money if I dont have to. Could the test be inaccurate? I seem to have many of the signs of Mercury poisoning, but the test says otherwise.

I am confused as to what to do. Please help me! I need to make a decision fast.

Thank you!

Forgot to mention that my Arsenic level was .011 which appears to be in the normal range, but was the only toxic element to be high. The others where really small amounts. I also wanted to mention that my Magnesium level was low and my calcium level was high. Hopefully some of you can help explain this related to mercury levels.

Thanks!

Hi, from what I've been through, what I've read and heard, mercury is notorious for not showing up on tests. This can be because the person is retaining the mercury and not excreting it, therefore the hair etc does not show the levels it should show and the person can be very very mercury toxic but show little to no levels. They are usually the sickest patients. If you have mercury toxic symptoms, show all the signs, yet have hardly any level of mercury, you can really be ill. Or, it can mean you do have low levels, but your body is intolerant of even minimal mercury.

Or that the source of the exposure is gone, but the mercury remains in the organs etc.

The best way of seeing if you have mercury, is to get a hair analysis test, but to get familiar with what minerals are disrupted or depleted in mercury toxicity. Usually mercury causes certain minerals to be depleted or ones to be too high.

If you want to find out where to do this and how, you can look on a website that should have the information in the links/files section. You can also ask people on that forum too. I'm not too familiar with it all, but know many are finding out in this way if they have a mercury problem.

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/frequent-dose-chelation/

But it is very normal to have low levels and be very ill with it. Doesn't mean a lot, but the other minerals on the test can be very telling to what is going on and whether there are telltale signs that mercury is at work.

You might be high in arsenic, or it might mean you are excreting arsenic properly. Could be both. On the link I gave you, there are people on there who are also arsenic toxic (mercury is usually at the bottom of other metal toxcity and is the main problem in most people and can prevent excretion of other metals). But at any rate, there are ways of detoxing mercury and arsenic and the link I gave you can help you find this out, plus the way to get the fillings removed etc.

Hope that's helpful to you.

Exactly, heavy metals aren't circulating in the body, they settle in the organs and don't circulate unless chelated or methylated. The hair test is not reliable at all. The levels can change from day to day too as mercury depletes and displaces all the good minerals as well.

The longer you leave the amalgams in, the more exposure you get, better out than in..but be sure to get it done by a mercury free dentist in a mercury free office.

Mercury derranges mineral transport which shows up as skewed minerals on a hair test. What lab did the test? You really should go to directlabs.com and order a DDI and by Cutlers hair test book. You can use the test to determine the probability of mineral transport derrangement. Derrangement of mineral transport is present in mercury toxic individuals, pregnant, lactating or some rare genetic disorder you probably already know about that if itwas that serious you would know about by mainstream medicine. In addition this derrangement normally shows up with low mercury. Only a few select people will actually be able to pick up mercury problem by high mercury and these are the type of people that need to chelate the least because their body is already getting rid of the mercury just not as fast as it is being put in by fillngs and other stuff. Depending on your symptoms which I imagine you think they are mercury related copper can cause the exact same symptoms. Copper will remain low in hair until you take copper reducing measures then it will dramatically rise in your hair and your blood and you will get copper dumps fooling you into thinking the treatement is not working. Mercury can also cause retention of copper and it is not uncommon to have both as both are excreted by the liver.

High hair calcium is very common in mercury problems as is antimony, nickel, tin etc. What happens is that your not really high in calcium its just that the binding sites on your cells are being blocked by mercury causing it to indicate high in your hair. Your hair test may appear to be all low or all high. One way to jimmy your hair test which is'nt the greatest is take the ranges (essential minerals only) and find the middle then tell me how many lie above the middle or below the middle.

Very interesting Jason, the derranged mercury/mineral connection is very hard to explain, and you did it very well.

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you all for the info. I have decided to have them removed as I dont want to take the chance now or in the future of things getting worse. I am going to a dentist that follows all the mercury free procedures (dam, oxygen, air suctions, etc). I will start the detox process right after they are removed and will have another hair analysis done in a month or so and see how that comes out.

Again, thank you all for responding and helping me make a decision.

Jason: I looked at the report again and 10 are in the middle range, 3 are low and one is high (Boron). There was also another chart of "additional elements" which had 5 in the middle, 8 low, and 2 high (vandium and Tin). Not sure if this is what you meant, but please let me know. The more info, the better.

Thanks again,

I should mention that Dr. Cutler wrote an amazing hair analysis book that explains exactly how mercury can be diagnosed using hair analysis. This is normally hard to do because mercury shows up low in stage 1 and stage 2 mercury toxic persons. However, his book explains exactly what to look for to identify mercury toxicity. I wish every doctor had a copy of this.

I had a hair analysis done which didn't show high levels of mercury either, but urine test (and applied kinesiology test) did. I don't think mercury shows up in the hair since it is embedded in your brain and organs. Your health is worth any amount of money!

Mercury only shows up high in hair analysis when you're in stage 3 poisoning. The vast majority of people are in stage 1 or 2 and a hair analysis on any of them will normally show low mercury because the body is absorbing it in order to keep blood levels low.

When you enter stage 3, mercury levels in the blood rise because the organs are no longer able to absorb mercury and you will be having serious symptoms at this point. Of course, this can be 10 to 50 years AFTER the amalgams were installed.

When searching for mercury toxicity, expecially when you're in stage 1 or stage 2, hair analysis must be interpreted properly to determine if mercury is in the body tissues. Here is an excellent book that describes exactly how to do this:

$2,500 sounds expensive to me. I had about 6 removed in London with all correct procedures for under $500. With hindsight I would have got them removed whatever the cost considering the improvement in my health the resulted from extraction. I was fine for over 10 years before the amalgam started to affect my health.

8 amalgams is a lot and can offgas huge amounts of mercury vapor. I had 9 and had quite an experience:
