--REJOICE!

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice."
--(Philippians 4:4)

--Paul tells us in Philippians 4 that we always have a reason to rejoice; our Lord Jesus Christ. Paul isn't saying that from a place of comfort; he had firsthand experience with rejoicing while in prison at Philippi (see Acts 16:16-34).
Joy is based on knowing the Christ who redeemed us, raised us to life in our Baptism, and continues to feed us with His Word and His Supper. There may be circumstances that seem to limit our joy, but Paul uses the verb rejoice. The dictionary defines rejoice as "to be glad; to take delight." This is an action that we can do by faith, no matter what our circumstances.

As you take delight in the Lord today, perhaps you can even hum the words to this song... "THRIVE" / Joy unspeakable, Faith/ unsinkable;/ Love unstoppable / Anything is possible!. smile
