Taking No Prisoners
in the Vaccine Culture War

| On a cold winter morning in November 2007, I watched hundreds of parents line up with their children in front of a Maryland county courthouse. The children had been kicked out of school by state officials and were truant. The mothers and fathers were holding letters threatening them with imprisonment or fines of $50 a day for failing to show proof their children had gotten a chickenpox or hepatitis B shot.
Confused, angry and frightened, but mostly resigned, they were working Moms and Dads trudging toward the courthouse on a Saturday morning to face a judge ordering them to vaccinate their children or go to jail.
Patrolling the scene was an armed SWAT team of policemen with dogs.
The U.S. media turned out that day, but they and other members of the public were kept behind barricades and denied access into the building. I was there with my son, who brought his camera. We were there to witness what was going on with parents whose children had been injured by vaccines.
There was no transparency, no public oversight on what was happening to the parents and children inside the building.

Doctors Denying Medical Treatment

Cry for Vaccine Freedom Wall. Following are two reports posted this month describing doctors denying medical treatment to a child and adult for declining vaccinations.
Here is a report of a child with a seizure disorder denied medical treatment by a pediatrician:
"My son began having seizures a few years ago. He has seen 3 neurologists and all three insist that the underlying cause must be a genetic factor, but no one on either side of the family has seizures and my son has not had a head injury. It didn't occur to me until recently that vaccines/heavy metals may have played a role. So, at my son's wellness visit, I expressed my concern to our pediatrician of 15 yrs and asked for a vaccine exemption. In Ohio we can have an exemption for Medical, Religious, or Philosophical reasons. The pediatrician got a bit angry and said that my sources were quacks and that I should go to the Children's Hospital website to read what they had to say about vaccines. Then he left and minutes later a male nurse came in with a form. The form basically said that the practice was going to dismiss our family if we did not comply within 60 days.
I had no idea that they could do that. Deny treatment for refusal to vaccinate? To make things more complicated, my son will need either the Vaccine Exemption or the Tdap, HPV & Meningococcal vaccination by the time he enters 7th grade or he cannot attend school. So by the end of this month we will be booted from the practice, have no Vaccine Exemption and on the hunt for a doctor not on the Big Pharma pay-role... I think I have a better chance of getting struck by lightning."
Here is a report by the wife of a man denied medical treatment by a dermatologist:
"My husband,desiring to have a cyst on the back of his neck removed,made an appointment with my dermatologist. During the preliminary evaluation, her assistant asked if he had had the pneumonia shot. My husband tactfully declined to answer the question and then asked what that had to do with his treatment? The assistant refusing an answer, told us that the doctor would not treat him."

Report and Share Your Vaccine Experiences
