---EVIDENCE, NOT PROOF~~
-"He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good and gave you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness." --(ACTS 14:17)----
--WE CANNOT prove the existence of GOD. It is not a case of proof; it is a case of evidence. So when you add up all the evidence, does it ague for or against the reality of GOD? Every day, you and I have to make decisions on the best available evidence. The amount of evidence we require to make a decision depends on the importance of that decision, doesn't it?
Let me illustrate it this way. Let's say you are at a party, and the hostess approaches with a tray on which there are two glasses of iced tea. You like sweet tea, so you ask which one is sweet. Your hostess says, "I'm sorry, but I can't remember which one I sweetened." You are probably willing to take a 50-50 risk to grab one of those glasses of iced tea. After all, the consequences of drinking unsweetened tea aren't that grave. Now imagine that some hostess approaches you with a tray of two iced tea glasses, and she says, "A cyanide tablet fell into one of these glasses, and I can't remember which glass it is." Before you took one of those glasses, you would want to have a lot of evidence that you are drinking from the right glass, wouldn't you? The consequences of not believing in God if He exists are far graver than drinking a glass of poisoned tea. The consequences last for eternity. ~~ --PTV/RJ~ ---------
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." [John 14:6]
