---WE ARE HUMANS living in a fallen world, and we will face some expression of evil every day of our lives. The Church of Jesus Christ is not a collective effort to outsmart evil. We don’t gather in our buildings and listen to teachers and meet in small groups and memorize Scripture so that we can create a battle plan for how to out-think and out-organize our adversary. We do all those things to learn about and grow closer to the God who watches over us.

--Our God is no coward; He is a champion, a warrior whose triumph over His enemies is assured. We stand in His strength, not our own. His power preserves us, not our own. His integrity guards us, not our own. Do not be tempted to wage the war against evil on your own. Carry His banner as you travel the journey of life, and thank Him as He tramples the enemies of His people.

--Whether out of indignation or compassion, have you been trying to fight battles against evil in your culture on your own? Determine to find your strength and hope in the Lord—it will affect the culture around you.

-"Heavenly Father, You are my strength and my shield. You spread Your protection over me and fight for me. I thank You for the Cross of Jesus Christ that delivers me from all evil. Draw me closer to your heart. My trust is in You. In Jesus’ name, amen."
