Hello. This is kind of embarrassing to me, but i'm glad to remain anonymous. I have mercury toxicity, plus other things adding to it. I get a very weird problem inside my mind to where I will fixate on a thought and then become afraid of it. It can obsess me and no matter what I do or try, i can't seem to stop doing it, even though I'm aware it's my doing in some respects.

I do not know if anybody else gets this, but I'm seriously distressed by it.

Is this mercury? I know one can't blame mercury on everything, but I really can't stand this. I hope someone out there knows what I'm talking about!! I also have depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts everyday. It's like my mind feels cold and dark and there is not one bit of normality or wellbeing. It's quite horrific and it almost makes me sick, but I have to endure it. I have often thought of ending my life because of the bizzare symptoms that go on daily.

I know this sounds very self pitying and tedious, but I wanted to get on here and let it out and hope someone might understand and perhaps have similar issues.

A lot of us here suffer from wierd symptoms. Mine have greatly lessened since getting 10 fillings out in Febuary.

I used to be terrified when I thought of social interaction with anyone besides a few select people. Funny thing was I am fine with social interaction with most people, but the thought of it still scared me very much. People even tell me I radiate a sense of calm....which is the opposite of what I feel inside but I work hard not to panic.

Same with the phone, I hated calling people or answering the phone if it wasn't my g/f or my mom. I mean, after I answered it I was fine but I still was terrified at the prospect of having to call a stranger.

These are pretty much gone for the most part. I still am not a very social person, but I still am detoxing from mercury and flouride so my mind is still a bit foggy.

I would bet its the mercury causing you problems, and I know personally as I have had these all my life since I had fillings pretty much all my life. They are now disappearing and a whole new me is starting to emerge, one that has been dormant since a very young age, hiding out of fear.

I suffer from anxiety, to such an extent where I limit my interactions with the outside world. It's not that I don't want to take part in life -- I do, and I'd even say I love life. But I become far too overwhelmed; negative thoughts and paranoia enter my head and refuse to leave. I realise I'm being irrational, but knowing that doesn't seem to help at all.

My anxiety is far greater during detox.

I don't believe the mercury causes the anxiety, but just increases it. I believe all the things I'm anxious about originate from my psyche, and have roots in various experiences in my life. But the thing is the mercury increases my level of anxiety to such an extent where I can bearly cope; thus I remove myself from any situations that could be overwhelming for me. But it is important for me to get out and about too. If I say indoors, away from everyone, it will worsen my emotional state.

I know when I'm feeling healier I feel less anxious. It's just a downside of detox.

I know where your coming from, i can be normal one minute, next minute i feel fearful, anxious, i feel scared, like feeling that im not part of the world, like i belong somewhere else, i always get a dry mouth aswell when i get this and it can be anywhere, the other day i was shopping for groceries and i felt the feeling coming on, a few minutes later i was crying panicking, rushing around and everyone was looking at me. I never ever suffered from depression or panic attacks before, infact i never understood depression before i got it a few months ago, its definitly mercury.

Hi. This sounds like OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). I've had this since I had fillings as a child (was chronic OCD by age of 12).

I know how you feel to be ashamed of it, and it's only in the past year or so I've felt able to tell people I've suffered from OCD - now that I can put a reason to it, mercury toxicity. But for the best part of 20 years I kept it to myself and hid it from my family because I was riddled with shame and guilt that I couldn't control it, and was afraid they would drug me or send me to a mental insttution - that was my biggest fear as a child, that I would go to a mental hospital if told anyone and so I never did. But it's a brain wiring problem, and latest theories are it's a lack of serotonin issue - some say magnesium deficency.

It's called Obsessive Compulsiive Disorder because it's just as you describe - having recurring thoughts that are "obessive" and are "compulsive" in that they are involuntary.

I know exactly what you mean when you talk about thoughts coming into your head involuntarily and then being scared by the thoughts. I get that all the time. I've had a lot of improvement in OCD since my mercury levels dropped when I reached adulthood (which I think was a combination of reasons - no braces, no more fillings, adult body able to cope better with the mercury release than that of a child) but this is one symptom I have trouble shaking. It's terriible and sometimes it makes me want to scream.

I've also had situations where I think I've ran over a cat in the car, even though I know I haven't, and had to drive around the block again just to make sure there is no cat on the road - and then maybe again just to reassure myself.

I know what you are going through, it's awful. But don't feel ashamed, it's not your fault. I'm sure that it will ease as your body is less toxic. People have had recovery from this with mercury detox.

To me it's like if a person is drunk all the time - we're intoxicated by mercury 24/7 - but remove the toxin and eventually the effect will negate.

As an iintellgent university graduate, having ths conditon has been extremely frustrating, but it's totally involuntary and we have to remember that the brain is an organ like everything else and if it isn't functioning properly, it will mess up behaviour and bodily functions, just like alcohol does. It's not your fault, you're the victim, not the perpetrator. Your thoughts are being scrambled due to the influence of the toxin. You may imagine all kinds of terrible things, because your fears will get so twisted that you think you have done them i.e. set the house on fire, or that you will set someone's place on fire - and that can then twist in your toxic brain to a fear that you're going to deliberately put a place on fire, even though you never would, and then feel that you are a secret arsonist because you had that thought, and then feel guilty about that.

It's a terrible condition. OCD is absolute hell, there's no other word for it. I even wondered sometimes in my life if I had died and gone to hell. It's a hell on Earth. But I do believe it can get better, and I know I got improvement in direct relation to my dental history.
