-The Promise of Peace
-Philippians 4:4-9

"..present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)

What is weighing on you today? Is there a loved one in need? Do you have a relationship in trouble? Are you facing a problem with no apparent solution? Do you feel alone? Like a soothing salve to the anxious heart, this promise in Philippians 4 is for you...today.

Unfortunately, anxiety does not come with an off-switch. One of the most complex human emotions, anxiety warns us that something is wrong and needs attention. It is not an inherently bad thing, especially if it drives us to our knees in prayer. Yet prayer is often the last thing we think to do.

Through Jesus we have access to the very Throne Room of Heaven. The Spirit intercedes for us there with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8). Even when we don't know how to pray, we are not hindered. God would not invite us to bring our cares and requests before Him if He did not plan to act.

And His promise is not that all our requests will be granted, but that the peace of Jesus Christ will guard our hearts. And that is better by far!~~~

The Lord Jesus is available 24/7's, so if you have a need today, take it to Him. He's always ready to help in our time of need.

~~~~~Your disappointments too heavy? Read the story of the Emmaus bound disciples. The Savior they thought was dead now walked beside them. He entered their house and sat at their table. And something happened in their hearts. "It felt like a fire burning in us when Jesus talked to us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us" (Luke 24 verse 32).

Next time you are disappointed, don't panic. Don't give up. Just be patient and let God remind you He's still in control. It ain't over till it's over. "Have faith in God."~

----IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU/ IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS!

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

Often when I begin to pray I am bombarded with reasons why I am not qualified to ask God for anything. Sometimes a video plays in my head of my every less-than-godly thought or word or action—whether or not I actually said or did them. Thankfully, Jesus addressed every one of my weaknesses on the cross.

Has the reality of the Cross settled into you? It is more than a “get out of hell free” card, because it certainly was not free. When you are tempted to think that you are not worthy to approach God, remember what Jesus endured in order for you to do that. He accomplished for you what you could not do for yourself. You did nothing to deserve or earn righteousness. You did not inherit it along with your hair and eyes. You have been crucified with Christ. He lives in you. Your righteousness, your ability to come before the throne of God, was purchased with His blood. When you are overcome with thoughts of your inadequacies, remember: It’s not about you. It’s about Jesus.

**THINK ABOUT IT
--How do you understand the Cross? Do you think of it as a “get out of hell free” card, or a gift that totally transforms your life from the inside out?
"Without the shedding of blood there is no sacrifice." Jesus PAID our sin-debt by dying on the Cross. Accept His invitation to become one of His followers. Jesus loves you so much that He died just for YOU!"

**PRAYER
"Heavenly Father, the only reason I can stand before You is because of what Jesus did for me on the cross. The exchange took place and He, Jesus, suffered for me so that I could have His forgiveness, cleansing from sin, and be justified. I am being continually sanctified, set apart for God. By the blood of Jesus, I have overcome the devil. In Jesus’ name, amen."
