The redefinition of the word “tolerance” has made it nearly impossible to debate religious truth claims respectfully. Instead, this new tolerance, which seems to have become our ultimate civic virtue, requires that we abandon all truth claims lest we offend someone. The problem with that notion is that all religions make mutually exclusive truth claims.

Either Jesus is the only way of salvation, or He is not. What Christians, Muslims, Jews, and Hindus say about the person and work of Jesus Christ cannot be reconciled. Jesus’ assertion and the clear assertion of the New Testament is that participation in the Kingdom of God is extended to you and me by Almighty God when we personally choose Jesus of Nazareth as Lord.

-- star That invitation will be the greatest we will ever receive, and the nature of it needs to be clearly understood and communicated so that we understand the truth claims we are making.

Do you have friends or family who make other claims about religious truth? How do you communicate the claim of Scripture that Jesus is the only way of salvation?
