I was wondering if anyone else has struggled with any type of urination problems with amalgam disease. I often have to run to the bathroom feeling like I am not going to make it in time. I am embarassed to say that a few times I did not get there in time and I started to urinate in my clothes. I was lucky I have been at home when this has happened. I also will go to the bathroom and feel done but sometimes urine will trickle out after I start zipping up. I am only 37 years old and I would feel better if I knew when I get the mercury out that this may go away. Thanks for your time.

Hi Jim. Yes it could be mercury doing this. It can affect any area of the body and brain. The control centers and everything. So you can get mixed signals or delayed ones and of course, when you need to get the signal to urinate and it comes too late and by that time you're about busting, then wham you get caught short.
I've not had exactly what you've had, but I've had similar problems there with urgency and having to run for it. I luckily have very good control and hold it in, otherwise I know it would come out. Or I go and think I'm done and suddenly I want to go again or I don't feel I have emptied my bladder, but instead of being able to urinate properly, I only get some trickles and I have to sit there for ages and I feel like I need to pee properly and hardly a thing will come out.
So yep, I've had the weirdo urinary tract symptoms too. Yours is particulary distressing and obviously you're being affected profoundly in that very area. Whether it's the mercury and whether it's in that particular area, or it's in an area of the brain that controls those impulses, it's hard to say.
You might still want to go to a doctor and let them know about what you're expeirencing. Id' say it's more common than we realise. It might well be mercury, but in case it's something else, good idea to get things checked. And if mercury is at the bottom of it, a doctor might still be able to give you help in the meantime.
That's not right you need to suffer like that. Not your fault. Something somewhere is buggering up the signals you should be getting to get ready to go toilet. It's like you get NO signal and then when you're bladder is about to burst, THEN yo have to run for it and hope you get there in time and most often you can't. Or you think you're done and you still have more in there and out it comes once you're standing up.
I would see a doctor, but also start to take care of the amalgam toxicity. Probably by starting with things like selenium, vitamin E, Vitamin C, zinc, magnesium and perhaps algin (which is suppose to help with mercury symptoms by absorbing it in the gut and probably elsewhere too).
Other than this, you won't be able to chelate properly until you have gotten ALL your amalgams out. Once you've done that, you should be able to embark on proper detox. Safest I've heard is a protocol which is being used by more and more people. It's on a forum called frequent dose chelation.
Hope that helps a little. And I hope the "problem" starts clearing up soon.

Oh P.S. to add to the list of those supplements is milk thistle. This helps the liver to detox and helps it heal.

frequent urination and strong urge to urinate are a sign that the adrenals and / or the pituitary are not functioning properly, both of which implicate mercury poisoning. Andy Cutler says many patients have partial diabetes insipidus - frequent and excessive urination. This may be because the pituitary is poisoned and sending out the wrong signals, or because the adrenals themselves are not secreting enough aldosterone, which controls urine volume and urgency.
You need to get to an endocrinologist to get tested and replace the hormones you are lacking or that the mercury has screwed up. As to whether it will resolve when the mercury has gone, that's the big question. Mercury can cause permanent damage to the endocrine system. I am encouraged, however, by my own experience. I am removing my amalgams, and have 3 left to go. For months now I have had to get up at night to go to the bathroom, just a few hours after going to sleep. This is not normal, and I hadn't done it in years. Concurrently I also had problems with excessive salivation, like someone had squeezed a lemon in my mouth. Since having had 9 of my 12 amalgams removed, one of which was cracked and leaking, the excess salivation has gone, and for the past few nights I haven't had to go to the bathroom. Coincidence? This is some progress even with some amalgams in.
I would buy a copy of Dr Andy Cutler's Amalgam Illness book - this has been the single most useful thing I have bought since I became sick - it explains everything that it going on in your body so it's not so frightening, seemingly unconnected and bizarre. No doubt Russ will give you the link.
Good luck

Hi, I agree with the previous posts. The functions in the brain being poisoned by mercury definitely affect the other areas. But one thing that should always be treated alongside mercury is CANDIDA. Candida is a yeast inside the body that gets out of control in most mercury toxic patients. Causing it's own myriad of symptoms and often hard to tell if it's candida or mercury, they both cause similar issues.
Anybody with mercury needs to stick to a strict healthy diet in order to lessen the candida in the body and control it WHILE they detox mercury. If you don't, you'll be suseptible to mercury, and find it harder to cope and detox.
Candida is notorious for causing urinary problems, as well as it's ability to affect organs and brain and prostate in men as well as reproductive organs in women. So mercury and candida go hand in hand.
The best things a person with mercury toxicity can do, apart from amalgam removal is pay strict attention to their diet. When mercury toxic people do not bother, this can destory more recoveries than anything. Diet is essential in helping in recovery and can alleviate and even eliminate some symptoms. Avoid sugar completely, in order to starve out the candida overgrowth and bring it into check, allowing the immune system to breath easier and also detoxes the body better. You should avoid not only sugar, but often wheat/gluten, and yeast, which means bread.
You might need to limit fruit in take because of the natural sugar and even milk. Depending on how bad you have it. Some people have to get so strict, they can't have milk, fruit or potatoes! You have to figure out that yourself. But the worst offenders are sugar, yeast and gluten.
So if you take all these things into consideration, you might find at the very least you're stronger to deal with the mercury and should be able to detox easier.
Just some words of advice. I have to tell you that candida along with mercury nearly caused me to commit suicide. Although mercury is at the bottom of it, I did not address candida and stayed on a "realtively ok diet" but still allowed some sugar in and bits of this and that, and wheat and gluten. Oneday I decided to go strict becuase I was truly at the end of my tether. It was not easy at first because you start to get "die off" as the candida fights to survive you will feel worse and get cravings. I hung in there and it took 3 weeks before the die off subsided and I felt ALOT better.
Though now, I've had other things occur that have tipped me into a severe condition. But at the time, the diet was crucial. It might help you. I'd consider it. Candida does indeed get into the urinary tract and organs.

Jim:
I have problems also...Frequency and sometimes I have problems holding it. I will be heading for the bathroom, and either get in the door or see the stool, and my bladder decides it's "time" to go....VERY hard to keep from leaking. I rarely make it through the night with only one "get up to pee" run. Almost always it is 2 or 3 times a night, even when I don't drink anything. It's hell trying to travel. I drive my poor husband crazy. I can rarely make it more than an hour or so. People tell me it's normal with age, but I am 53, not 90!

I have always wanted to go to the bathroom a lot at night, and sometimes wake up in pain from having held it all night. Have something of a weak bladder in that I get leakage, but haven't noticed that I go to the toilet more than anyone else - really hard to say.
My hormonal system is seriously mixed up, which I guess is the mercury as the ob-gyn doesn't know what it is, so says it's "probably" PCOS.

Bex Thanks for all the information. I have been to Dr.s and they want me to beleive it is MS, but my spinal fluid does not show anything and my brain and back MRI's show nothing. I have been taking everything you mentioned except for selenium. I had the last quadrant of amalgams removed a week and a half ago. I praying that the problem will go away as I remove the mercury. Thanks again for everything. It helps to know I am not the only one who has to deal with this.

Hi Jim, You're welcome. Doesn't surprise me that you've already been to doctors. It seems it's mercury related. Mercury can cause MS or cause MS type symptoms. Not surprising they might have confused that.
I'm glad you got the last of your amalgams out. It's good you're taking some supplements too. I would suggest to get onto Andy Cutler's mercury detox protocol. Someone else suggested it and I second that.
You would be wise to get his book. It is absolutely valuable with this syndrome. Goes through everything.
Anyway, I wish you all the best and hope over time, this problem begins to subside as the mercury is gradually lessened from your system.

Before my amalgams were removed, I had to urinate many times during the night (3 to 5). Now, i only have to when I get up. Of couse, look at this page from Huggin's Book (pg 54):

Jim, I have had this problem. I also had terrible on/off kidney pain. My chirpractor suggested that it was systemic yeast. I thought he was crazy. But when the problem got out of hand, and I couldn't take it any more, I went off sugar. The problem disappeared, only to come back if I ate sugar (molasses, honey, lots of fruit etc). As we have read on this forum, mercury causes yeast problems. I am glad to say that since having my fillings replaced, though I still am very careful about sugar, if I eat some sugar now and then, my symptoms do not come back.

yep, I really can relate to these problems, they are really annoying and embarrassing, especially the leaking after you have finished. I think as I have detoxed they have gotten better, but still there. You think it has to do with the endocrine system huh? My naturopath thinks that my endocrine system reallly does need some healing so maybe this makes sense.

I agree with anonymous...I also find if I keep the candida under control, I have much better bladder function and control. Mercury and candida do go hand in hand.
