Mercury Poisoning
How can there be so many people supporting the introduction of Mercury into the body? No one is promoting Mercury as a nutritional supplement, something the body needs in quantity for growth and maintenance of life. So, what has it done for mankind?
Early on, mercury became a solution to a problem. Dentistry needed a pliable material that could be mixed on the spot and pressed into the drilled tooth that would then quickly harden such that the patient could walk out "fixed" with chewing ability restored. It effectually reduced the patient-time in the chair. Like many solutions, mercury introduced into the body in this fashion has unseen negative consequences.
In Natural Dentistry we see these consequences daily in our patients. We now understand the mouth is a central player in health and is an integral part of the "health-maintaining-systems" of the body. Adding metals to the mouth may not directly cause a "disease" but it certainly attracts the attention of the immune system whose job it is to eliminate infectious microorganisms and other potentially damaging foreign elements. When Mercury Vaporizes
Metals ions are required in many biochemical reactions but when mercury vaporizes from dental fillings, goes into circulation in the body and is stored in fatty tissue, the levels can easily become toxic over time. Body chemistry is thrown off with excess mercury in circulation as it is chemically attracted to sulphur, iodine, and selenium, etc. disrupting compounds the body uses for such things as protein metabolism, which in turn disrupts many other processes. Disease can take hold where normal body functions are disrupted.
The question is for each individual, how much mercury is absorbed from all sources, how much is released and how much does the body have in store. When too much is present, the body reacts with symptoms we categorize as mercury poisoning.
When mercury fillings are carefully removed many deleterious conditions are alleviated and a wide variety of better-health-outcomes result.
Watch this patient interview as she describes the effects of her mercury poisoning and how the removal of amalgam fillings brought relief.
As a profession, we must choose healthy outcomes and eliminate any possibility of mercury poisoning.
