Jets are built to be very light. They have been compared to tin can tubes with engines. When a jet encounters a building, the jet is shredded into many pieces inside the building. The jet fuel explodes with 1 unified explosion that lasts only a few seconds. This explosion period is much too short to transfer any appreciable amount of heat to the structure of the building.
