Is the media guilty of censorship?

The headline below was on the front cover of today's Gold Coast Bulletin and the article inside was by the paper's 'health' reporter, Jack Harbour. Read what he has written and then, below, read the information the AVN had sent him regarding the documentary film, VaxXed. As you can see, Mr Harbour chose to ignore all information provided to him and also, despite the fact that he has now been sent free screeners to view the film twice, has apparently never watched it.
The following information was sent to Jack Harbour, the author of the above article. While we appreciate the excellent publicity afforded to this tour by the Gold Coast Bulletin, it might have been a good idea for the article to have included some of this information instead of simply calling for censorship and suppression of data.

Regarding Dr Wakefield:

Dr Wakefield and his colleague and co-author, Professor John Walker-Smith, were both struck off on nearly identical charges, by the General Medical Council in Britain over the Lancet study. Professor Walker-Smith appealed the General Medical Council's findings, and took the case to the British High Court. The High Court Judge quashed the findings, reinstated Walker-Smith's license, and said against the General Medical Council that: 

"For the reasons given above, both on general issues and the Lancet paper and in relation to individual children, the panel's overall conclusion that Professor Walker-Smith was guilty of serious professional misconduct was flawed, in two respects: inadequate and superficial reasoning and, in a number of instances, a wrong conclusion."

VaxXed Focus:

VaxXed is not about the Lancet study or Dr Wakefield, anymore than it is about the Dr Phil show and Del Bigtree. Del is a Producer of VaxXed, and formally with the Dr Phil Show, and The Doctors medical talk show. 

VaxXed is about the 2004 DeStefano study, and a co-author named Dr William Thompson of the US Government's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. 

In 2004, over 4000 families were sitting in the US Court of Federal Claims, alleging that vaccination caused autism in their children. Were the families to win in court, the US Government would have been responsible for their compensation, not the drug companies, per the 1984 Vaccine Injury Act that gave immunity (no pun intended) to the drug companies for paying financial composition for any injuries caused by vaccinations on the childhood schedule. 

The 2004 DeStefano study was a key paper used to throw out these lawsuits, protecting the US Government from having to pay out billions of dollars in compensation to these families, other past families, and any future families. There were a handful of tiny exceptions to this, including the case of Hannah Polling, whose father was a neurologist, and who managed to acquire a win in the Claims Court, with the US Government paying the compensation to Hannah for vaccine-induced Autism, complicated by a mitochondrial disorder. 

In 2014, Dr William Thompson, lead author on the DeStefano study, released thousands of pages of documents to Congressman Bill Posey, and was recorded on tape without his knowledge (though legally), admitting to eliminating data from the study that showed a likely causal link between MMR vaccine and Autism. - Dr Jim Sears, paediatrician and co-host of The Doctors medical talk show. 
- Dr Stephanie Seneff, researcher at MIT, PhD in Computer Science, Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, and Bachelor of Science, all from MIT.
- Dr Luc Montagnier, Virologist, and Nobel Prize winner for his discovery of the HIV virus.

Above are a list of just some of the medical doctors and scientists in VaxXed, who discuss this issue. We understand there are doctors and scientists, and many politicians, criticizing the film. We support freedom of information, informed consent, and scientific debate. 

Were it not for the views of a vocal minority fighting against the status quo, we might still live in a world that believed the earth was flat or that smoking was a healthy choice.
