---Signs of Christ's Return ~
--- bible
"As He, [Jesus], was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"

And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you.

"For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many.

"You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.

"For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom aganist kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes.

"But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.

"Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.

"At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another.

"Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.

"Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold.

"But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.

"This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come." --Matthew 24:3-14 - star

--KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE MIDDLE EAST
By: Franklin Graham

Decision Magazine/ March 2011

'Pray for souls as Christ's return draws ever nearer.'
---- bible
~~ IT has been with great interest that I've watched the unfolding of recent events in the Middle East.

With virtually no warning and in only a matter of days, the small North African nation of Tunisia was brought to a political boiling point as the populace revolted against President Ben Ali, who fled to Saudi Arabia when he realized his decades-long rule had suddenly ended.

The reverberations of that revolt quickly and violently spread to the neighboring state of Egypt. The media has graphically chronicled the turbulent protests of an angry citizenry, forcing long-time President Hosni Mubarak to step down in February.

The groundswell of demonstrations spread to other Arab countries, including Yemen, Algeria and Jordan, where King Abdullah II dissolved the government to appease the protestors.

Combined with the recent takeover of the Lebanese government by Hezbollah (a militant Muslim political group), the continued conflict in Iraq, and the threat of a nuclear Iran, it's clear that the Middle East has quickly become the staging ground for the greatest threat to world peace since the last World War.

Although many of the demonstrations have resounded with cries of freedom and even democracy, it is not hard to fathom that virtually all of these contries could quickly come under the direct control of hard-line Islamic rule. Look what happened in Gaza several years ago when the people overwhelmingly voted for the current Hamas regime.

One of the founding tenets of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt--a party that could well take power--is that "Islam is the solution."

All of this should come as no surprise to followers of Jesus Christ who know their Bible and the pivotal role of the nation of Israel as the Messiah comes in glory to crush all opposition and establish His millennial rule and reign.

The one unifying factor in the uprising that has spread through the desert and mountains of Africa and the Middle East is the deep hatred of the Jewish people and their land. One day soon, Israel will be surrounded on the north, east and south by those who hate the Name of Jesus and despise the Jews.

While no one but God knows when the "Day of the Lord" will come, I believe the sovereign hand of God is wisely and powerfully at work in world events to bring about the end of the age. It will be then that the kings of the earth gather together on the plains of Megiddo (Armageddon) to do battle against the Lord and His saints (Revelation 16:12-16,19). Refusing to repent and give glory to God, they will be utterly annihilated by the King of kings and Lord of lords.

So as we watch events continue to unfold in the months and years to come, let us pray for the souls of unbelievers--Jew, Muslim, and Gentile--to know Jesus as their Savior. Let's pray for the testimony of the church, that believers will not cringe in fear but be faithful and bold in their witness--even unto death.

Most of all, let us pray along with the Spirit, "Come, Lord Jesus" (Revelation 22:20).- prayer

Come quickly!

Watching for Christ's Return
By: Henry Morris, Ph.D.

"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. . . . Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh" (Matthew 24:42,44). - cross

The new millennium has arrived without any special prophetic events taking place. Those who were predicting Christ's return may become skeptical about Biblical prophecy. But this would be a sad mistake. Regardless of just when it will happen, Christ will return, for so He promised, and He cannot either lie or fail. He has repeatedly made it plain that no one can determine the date of His coming. Not even He, while in His human limitations, knew that (Mark 13:32).

Again and again He urged us to watch and be ready for His return. He did not tell us to watch for the Antichrist or the revival of Rome's empire or a great apostasy or a great revival or a world government or anything else -- just for Him! Note some of His commands to do this (in addition to the two in our text).

"Take ye heed, watch and pray, for ye know not when the time is" (Mark 13:33).

"Watch ye therefore: . . . Lest coming suddenly, He find you sleeping" (Mark 13:35-36).

"Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh" (Matthew 25:13).

In addition to such exhortations by the Lord Himself, the apostles also sounded similar warnings.

"Unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation" (Hebrews 9:28).

"Abide in Him; that, when He shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before Him at His coming" (I John 2:28).

Space limitations preclude listing others, but again in the words of Christ: "And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch" (Mark 13:37).

We read about "The Second Coming of Christ" specifically in 2 Thessalonians.
-- bible
I would highly recommend that you read your Bible and be prepared for what is happening today and what is soon coming!

Paul tells us in 2 Thessalonians; Chapter 2 (vs. 3) "Let no man deceive you by any means; for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Who opposeth and exaleth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shows himself that he is God.

(vs.7) For the mystery of iniquity doth already work:

I do not agree with going online and reading just 'anybody's interpretation of scriptures'.

2 Timothy 2:15-16-- We are told to 'study to show ourselves approved unto God, workmen that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Shun propane babblings...'

Please read this entire 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2-....'Events that precede Christ's coming. The man of sin to be revealed, delusions of the Arch deceiver, ..'

Vs. 12) That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.'
---
Things are really happening fast as the time winds down for the rapture of the Church, second coming of Christ. Russ has some really good information on here to prepare/warn the true believers in Christ.

There are many, yes MANY counterfeit religions in this world today. 'Christian Scientists, Jehovah's Witnesses, Masons, Mormons, New Age Movement, Rosicrucians, Secular Humanism, Transcental Meditation, Unification Church, Unitarian Universalists, The Way International.....

Please, please I beg you by the mercy of the Lord Jesus to read your Bible. If you don't have one, and you are reading this now, you have no excuse! Your computer will bring up any (and all,unfortunately)...beliefs, doctrines, religions....

I admonish you to please get a King James Version (New King James Version), or perhaps New American Standard Bible...as these are the closest translation of the original script.

-Signs of the Times
-By: Henry Morris, Ph.D.
- bible
"When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?" (Matthew 16:2-3)

This sharp rebuke by the Lord Jesus was well deserved, for His critics were challenging Him to prove His right to be heard by performing a miracle. But they had already been confronted with a tremendous body of evidence, both in their Scriptures and in the very life and teachings of Jesus (as well as in the miracles already wrought by Him) that He was their Messiah. They paid great attention to weather forecasting and other mundane matters, while ignoring or rejecting the evidence that God Himself, in Christ, was in their midst.

Today we are more occupied with daily weather even than they were, with all sorts of forecasting devices in operation. There is also a growing army of doomsday forecasters, loudly concerned about a predicted nuclear winter, overpopulation, pollution, alien invasions from outer space, and a host of other foreboding secular "signs of the times."

Yet they ignore the overwhelming evidences, both in science and Scripture, that our great Creator/Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, is still in control and is coming again soon to fulfill His great purposes in creation and redemption.

A mere listing of the many real signs of God’s times would take many pages. One such sign, of course, is this very proliferation of science and technology. At "the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased" (Daniel 12:4). Another is the great following achieved by these false teachers, as multitudes "turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables" (2 Timothy 4:4).

"Hypocrites," Jesus said, are concerned with secular trends, but spiritual discerners can recognize the true signs.

-The End
-By: John D. Morris, Ph.D.

“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?” (I Peter 4:17).
-- bible
As Peter wrote his first epistle, foremost in his mind was a desire to encourage the believers to stand firm in the face of suffering and trial. On four occasions he used the term, “the end,” focusing his reader’s attention on the final resolution of all things. A study of these occurrences gives us a glimpse of the tenor of the entire book.

The first use followed an explanation of the nature and benefits of the various trials in a believer’s life. The result would be a pure, effective faith now, as well as “receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls” (1:9), the final ultimate deliverance of our whole person.

Meanwhile, “gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1:13). Our minds should be completely (“to the end”) ready for action, sober and expectant, focused on the ultimate resolution of all trials.

This ultimate resolution could come at any time: “The end of all things is at hand” (4:7). Our response should be to “be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.” To be sober is to be of sound judgment, making careful decisions, not based on emotion; especially watchful as we pray, with eternity in mind.

Our text gives us the last occurrence of “the end.” The time of final judgment on both Christian and non-Christian looms nearer and nearer. But, God’s cleansing of His people has already begun and it at times is not pleasant, although beneficial. His judgment on those outside “the house of God” will be much more severe, with no opportunity for reconciliation. This warning should motivate us in our ministry to the unsaved.

-Judgment Is Coming
-By: Henry Morris, Ph.D.

- bible
"So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God" (Romans 14:12).

There is only one thing that is absolutely sure to happen to every person -- everyone will have to face God some day. Not even "death and taxes" are certain for every one, but meeting God for an accounting of one's life is certain!

Therefore, as the prophet Amos warned some 2500 years ago: "Prepare to meet thy God, O Israel" (Amos 4:12). "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" (Hebrews 9:27).

To the Christian believer, of course, there is no need to fear hell, for there is "now no condemnation (that is, `judgment') to them which are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1). The Lord Jesus has paid for our sins and purchased our redemption with His shed blood. He "was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification" (Romans 4:25).

Nevertheless, we as Christians still "must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ" (II Corinthians 5:10), where "the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide . . . he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire" (I Corinthians 3:13-15).

Those who die in unbelief, however, not having trusted Christ as their Savior, will face a different meeting with God. The apostle John describes the awesome scene as he saw it in his prophecy. "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works" (Revelation 20:12). But no one can ever be saved by his works (Ephesians 2:9). Therefore, "Whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire" (Revelation 20:15).

Malachi 4:1-6

"The Sun of
Righteousness shall
arise with healing
in His wings."
--Malachi 4:2 --- bible
---
MY state's name, "Idaho," according to one legend, comes from a Shoshone Indian word, "ee-dah-how." When translated into English, it means something like, "Behold! The sun rising over the mountain." I often think of that when the sun breaks over the eastern peaks and spills light and life into our valley.

Also, I think of Malachi's promise: "The Sun of Righeousness shall arise with healing in His wings" (Mal. 4:2). This is God's irrevocable promise that our Lord Jesus will come again and all creation "will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God" (Rom. 8:21).

Each new sunrise is a reminder of that eternal morning when "bright heaven's Sun" will arise with healing in His wings. Then everything that has been made will be made over and made irrevocably right. There will be no throbbing backs or knees, no financial struggles, no losses, no aging. One Bible version says that when Jesus returns we will "go out and leap like calves released from the stall" (Mal. 4:2). This is my highest imagination and my hope.

Jesus said, "Surely I am coming quickly" (Rev.22:20).
Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

High King of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven's joys, O bright heaven's Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

David Wilkerson Today

THE COMING OF JESUS -- cross

I believe Jesus is coming very soon. We see the Lord gathering the nations together against Israel. Events are moving rapidly toward Armageddon.

“When you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors” (Matthew 24:33).

“Of the day and hour knoweth no man, no, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only” (v. 36).

All signs point to a Mideast war against Israel. Out of the turmoil in Arab nations will come a united call to destroy Israel. We are beholding the fulfillment of prophecies we have preached about for many years.

Those who know the Scriptures have a Holy Ghost inner sense of the Lord’s return. We hear the call of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, crying, “Even so, Lord Jesus, come.”

Jesus said, “Watch therefore: for you know no what hour your Lord will come” (v. 42).

“Be ready, for in such an hour as you think not the Son of man cometh” (v. 44).

“Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord, when he comes, shall find so doing” (v. 46).

Beloved, do you feel—do you sense—that these are the last of the last days? Do you share the longing for his appearance?

Look up; our redemption is drawing near! -- prayer

Are we living in the last days?
---Jack Graham

The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.
-- 1 Peter 4:7- bible

I'm sure you've seen someone either on TV or on the street
with a long beard and a sign hanging around his neck that says
"The End is Near!" And since the death of Christ,
preachers and writers have spoken about the last days. It seems that every generation thinks they're the last one before Christ returns!

Well, the apostle Peter makes a bold statement in today's
passage when he says, "The end of all things is at hand."So was he crying wolf to try to scare people? Maybe he was just making a fanatical statement.

The fact is that these are the last days. The Bible says it in Hebrews 1:2 that God "in these last days... has spoken to us by his Son." So since the death and resurrection of Christ, we've been living in the last stage of human history. And the God who created and sustains this world will also terminate this world. (restore, purify?)

Now there's a lot of buzz about how we should be scared that
2012 is the end of the world. But I hope it's much sooner than
that! What a wonderful day it will be when Jesus puts an end to all pain and death.

So as a believer in Christ, live your life like today is the last chance you will ever have to share his Good News.

LIVE THE CHRISTIAN LIFE WITH A SENSE OF URGENCY BECAUSE THESE ARE THE LAST DAYS!

-Does Japan Earthquake Signal the End Times?
-By: Larry Vardiman, Ph.D.

The effects of the Japan earthquake of March 11, 2011, broadcasted on television made it one of the most terrifying natural events ever displayed in near real time. Several large earthquakes have occurred in recent years with accompanying tsunamis that killed tens of thousands of people, but this most recent tragedy of earthquake, tsunami, releases of nuclear radiation, and thousands of displaced people has forced many to re-evaluate their view of the end times.
-- fyi
Geophysicists have reported that the movement of the tectonic plates under Japan changed the figure axis of the earth and shortened the day slightly.1, 2 If the Japan earthquake affected this axis and changed the rotation rate of the earth, are earth's motions becoming more unstable? Could these instabilities lead to more earthquakes and other end-time events described in the Bible?

Although the Japan earthquake was of magnitude 9.0 on the Richter scale, produced major damage, and is projected to have killed up to 20,000 people, it needs to be placed in perspective with other larger disasters. Earthquakes, tsunamis, tropical cyclones, and volcanic eruptions have caused even greater damage and killed more people in the past. The public is unaware of many of these natural disasters because they occurred in remote locations many years ago without the real-time news coverage we experience today.

Although the Bible speaks of cosmological and geological events occurring in the end times, the recent earthquakes and tsunamis do not match the magnitude demanded by prophecy. Nor does there appear to be an increase in the frequency of large earthquakes and other catastrophes that would lead one to believe that the last events of the end times are occurring.

But even if there was an interval of increased frequency, Scripture specifically says, "For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night" (1 Thessalonians 5:2). The cosmological and geological events of the end times will be greater than anything we have experienced in our lifetime and will descend upon those still present on the earth suddenly and unexpectedly.

--- cross
For Christians who are looking forward to the Lord's return, His coming will be a blessing. The Lord will come to take His own to spend eternity with Him before the devastation hits. Let's anticipate the return of the Lord by informing as many of our friends and family as possible how to escape the judgment to come.

The Day Of The Lord At Hand
By" Henry Morris, Ph.D.

“Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come” (Joel 1:15).
------ bible
When the prophet Joel penned these words 2800 years ago, he saw the day of the Lord as at hand! “The day of the LORD is near” (Joel 3:14). Similarly, another prophet said, “The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly” (Zephaniah 1:14), 150 years after Joel’s prophecy. Then, sixty years still later, Ezekiel prophesied: “For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near” (Ezekiel 30:3). Obadiah, one of the first of the writing prophets, had said: “For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen” (Obadiah 15).

All of these prophets were translated into the future, as it were, to see in vision the imminent approach of the day of the Lord. And lest anyone think that day will be a day of peace and joy, Amos warns otherwise: “Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light” (Amos 5:18).

The day of man has continued a long, long time, but the inevitable day of God is coming soon. If it was at hand in Joel’s day, and near in Isaiah’s day, think how much nearer it must be now! Our God of grace has been patient and long-suffering through long years of human indifference and rebellion and wickedness, but His day is coming, “for He is strong that executeth His word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?” (Joel 2:11).

There is a different promise, however, for those who know their Creator and Lord Jesus Christ in forgiveness and salvation. “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; . . . Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness” (II Peter 3:10,13).

-Perilous Times And The Word Of God -
By Henry Morris, Ph.D.

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come” (II Timothy 3:1).
-- bible
These sobering words introduce the last message of the apostle Paul just before his martyrdom. Instead of the world being converted to Christ and getting better and better as the gospel goes out around the world, “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived” (II Timothy 3:13).

The twenty characteristics of people in the last days listed in the verses following our text constitute almost a definition of humanism—self-love, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, etc. The humanistic basis of all these peril-producing attributes of the last days is most evident in the last two: “having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof” and “ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (II Timothy 3:5,7).

The most disturbing aspect of this situation is that these are given as characteristics of people in a professedly Christian society, having a form of piety but rejecting creation and the miraculous aspects of true Biblical Christianity. Furthermore, those in such a pseudo-Christian society who determine to “live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution” (II Timothy 3:12).

The answer to such an environment, however, is neither conformity nor compromise. Paul’s counsel is simply to “continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, . . . from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (II Timothy 3:14,15).

Thus, the basic answer to every problem, even in the perilous times of the last days, is simply to continue believing and obeying the inspired, profitable, perfecting word of God (II Timothy 3:16,17). - cross

-Watching for Christ's Return
-By: Henry Morris, Ph.D.
------ bible
"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. . . . Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh" (Matthew 24:42,44).

-LOOKING UNTO JESUS

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2). - bible

If you should ask me what is happening in the world right now, I would answer,
“Everything Jesus warned us would happen in the last days!”

He warned of men’s hearts failing them with fear from beholding the things happening on earth. He warned of earthquakes in various places—nations rising against nations—ethnic group against ethnic group.

We have lived to see the beginning of all the end-time prophecies being fulfilled before our very eyes. Consider Luke 21:11, “Great earthquakes in various places.”

What did Jesus tell us to do when we see all these things coming to pass?
He said, “Look up, lift up your heads (eyes); for your
redemption is drawing near” (21:28).

Oh beloved, if you love Jesus, you should not be surprised or fearful. GOD HAS EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL.

Yes, we tremble at first seeing and hearing such dire news—but this is the time to look unto Jesus. He brought us this far—-He is the author of our faith—He will bring us to the finish line with hope and peace, no matter what happens.

Today, let not any bad news cast down your soul. Look up—keep your entire focus on Jesus. He is coming very soon.

“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised” (Hebrews 10:23).

Thanks for the note. You are absolutely correct! We need to spread the Word of God, to all who do not know Him as Savior, as well as His soon coming. You are welcome to post as the Lord leads you. God Bless!

-Immediate Results

"For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now." (Romans 8:22) - bible

Sometimes we don't get to see the results of our work or choices soon enough to suit us. But on one occasion, a man's choice and resulting action were given immediate attention, and the effects of that attention even now rule the universe.

"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat" (Genesis 3:6).

The result of Adam's deliberate sin--"Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression" (1 Timothy 2:14)--was immediate and total punishment upon Adam and Eve, and through them, on all humanity (Genesis 3:14-19). "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" (Romans 5:12). "For the creature (or 'creation') was made subject to vanity (that is, 'futility'), not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope" (8:20).

This "bondage of corruption" (v. 21) placed upon the entire creation, now known to science as the 'Second Law of Thermodynamics', is known to all of us as the basic tendency of life. Everything is in the process of death and decay. This law will one day be removed; but until then, we, like the groaning, travailing creation of our text, "groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body" (v. 23).

Although we recognize now that "the wages of sin is death," we can be very thankful that the story doesn't end there, for "the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

--See, the Lion
Luke 9:28-36

"Then one of the elders said to me, 'Do not weep! See, the Lion...He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.'"Revelation 5:5 - angelwing
----
My mind goes back to the mountain top where John communed with Moses, Elijah and his dear friend, Jesus. They spoke of how Jesus must die to set people free. Moses knew obedience to the Law could never do that. Elijah, with all his miracle-working power, could not do it. They had no power, whatsoever, to break the seals of sin that bind mankind.

In our time many believe that they can please God by doing good. Others look for some spiritual experience that will give them power to succeed. If the law of Moses or miraculous deeds could set people free, why would Jesus have had to die at all? How could we ever think we could do enugh to earn God's mercy?

Neither Moses nor Elijah nor anyone in heaven nor in the earth or under the earth was able to break the seals of that book. When Moses and Elijah had gone, Jesus remained.

Jesus alone is able to cut through that which binds. Do not weep with John, for Jesus is worthy. See, the Lion. Dry your tears and look! Praise Him now and forever.
--
Forgive us, LORD, for our tendency to look for self-help solutions to our spiritual bondage. Only Jesus' help can set us free.

-What Kind of People Ought We To Be?
-By: Franklin Graham

There has been a lot of speculation about the end times lately, especially in light of recent storms. I saw firsthand the devastation and carnage that accompanied the fierce, deadly tornadoes that swept across the South and the Midwest this spring.

I've seen lots of disasters in my lifetime, but the scenes that I witnessed in Alabama and Missouri were among the most horrific I've encountered anywhere.

Many are asking if the seemingly growing numbers of such catastrophes could be an indication that the return of Christ is drawing nearer. Jesus said that such tragedies--in addition to wars and persecution--are indeed the "beginning of birth pains" (Matthew 24:8), and these certainly appear to be increasing in frequency and intensity.

Just a few weeks ago, the owner of a Christian radio network forecast that May 21 would be "Judgment Day" for the world. I was amazed at the extensive national coverage given to this prediction, even though the Bible says that only the Father in Heaven knows the exact date of the Savior's return. It was hard to view a news program or read a newspaper without a prominent reference to this event.

While I'm grateful that there has been some renewed discussion given to the return of the King, I'm afraid that such a superficial focus can divert our attention from the primary thrust of Scripture regarding His coming--are we living holy, Godly lives on earth, diligently waiting and working until He comes?

As Peter described the day of the Lord when the "heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire" (2 Peter 3:10-12).

One day--and I hope it will be soon--Chrst will return and establish a new Heaven and a new earth. He will come in the fullness of His glory, to execute His wrath on those who have rejected Him and to receive into His glorious presence those who have believed in Him. It will be a moment in time like no other--the final moment for the world.

Since we will be made fully like Christ at His coming, our lives on earth shold be a constant process of allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us into His likeness. "But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure" (1 John 3:2-3).

We don't know when Christ will return, but we do know that He will come again. Are we ready to meet Him? Have our sins been washed away by the blood of the Lamb? If not, our names are not written in the book of Life, and we will be cast forever into the Lake of Fire.

If we have trusted in His atoning work on the cross, cross are we cultivating a deep, abiding relationship with Him so that we may be "confident and unashamed at his coming" (1 John 2:28)? If so, then we may echo with the saints, "Amen. Come, Lord Jesus" (Revelation 22:20).

-LOVED BY A TRUSTWORTHY GOD
By:Max Lucado

* * *
“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”
Matthew 24:6
* * *

Nature is a pregnant creation, third-trimester heavy. When a tornado rips through a city in Kansas or an earthquake flattens a region in Pakistan, this is more than barometric changes or shifts of ancient fault lines. The universe is passing through the final hours before delivery. Painful contractions are in the forecast.

As are conflicts: “wars and rumors of wars.” One nation invading another. One superpower defying another. Borders will always need checkpoints. War correspondents will always have employment. The population of the world will never see peace this side of heaven.

Christians will suffer the most. “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me” (Matt. 24:9 NIV).

But remember: “All these [challenging times] are the beginning of birth pains” (Matt. 24:8 NIV), and birth pangs aren’t all bad. (Easy for me to say.) Birth pains signal the onset of the final push. The obstetrician assures the mom-to-be, “It’s going to hurt for a time, but it’s going to get better.” Jesus assures us of the same. Global conflicts indicate our date on the maternity calendar. We are in the final hours, just a few pushes from delivery, a few brief ticks of eternity’s clock from the great crowning of creation. A whole new world is coming! . . .

All things, big and small, flow out of the purpose of God and serve his good will. When the world appears out of control, it isn’t. When warmongers appear to be in charge, they aren’t. When ecological catastrophes dominate the day, don’t let them dominate you.

Let’s trust our heavenly Father.—Fearless

* * * * *
'Glorious God, all things flow out of your purposes. You are in control even when catastrophes dominate the day. When global conflicts increase, may we remember that these are birth pangs preparing the way for a whole new, wonderful world. May we lay aside all anxiety and fear and see these singular events as signs for rejoicing and anticipating your peaceful kingdom, amen. prayer

-Seeking Signs
-By: Henry Morris, Ph.D.

-"An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth" (Matthew 12:39-40).

If there was ever "an evil and adulterous generation," it is surely this present one and, once again, there is a widespread seeking after signs (same word in the Greek as "miracles"). The almost explosive rise of the so-called New Age movement has produced an amazing interest in all forms of occultism and supernatural phenomena: astrology, channeling, ESP, near-death experiences, UFO's, meditation, and mysticism of many strange varieties.

Even in Christian circles, there is an unhealthy interest in new revelations and other supernatural signs. The Lord Jesus, however, rebuked those who wanted special signs before receiving Him. "Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe" (John 4:48). He has already given us the greatest of all signs -- His bodily resurrection from the dead, cross the best-evidenced fact of all history -- and this should suffice, as He told the scribes and Pharisees in our text.

In fact, there is a real danger in seeking such signs and wonders, for many of these things -- while perhaps supernatural -- are not from God. "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect" (Matthew 24:24).

Unlike the first generation of Christians, we now have the complete written Word of God, both Old and New Testaments, and it is sufficient for every need of every believer until Christ returns, "whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts" (II Peter 1:19).

I am reminded that our Lord did NOT tell us to "seek the end times", but rather to "watch and be ye ready". He is coming and we can be sure that it will be in His good timing.

We are one day closer to the Lord's return right now!

-PREPARED
FOR THE
REAL THING ~

-Luke 12:35-40
---
Therefore you also
be ready, for the Son
of Man is coming at
an hour you do not
expect. --Luke 12:40
bible
----
Through the years, quite a few people have predicted the return of Jesus at a specific time. Just last year an Amerian radio preacher stirred up the interest of the mainstream media with his prediction that Jesus would return on May 21, 2011.

Anyone who knows Scripture well knew that this advance warning wasn't accurate, because Jesus Himself said His return would be "at an hour you do not expect" (Luke 12:40). But I do have to admit that this prediction captured my attention. Often I get so caught up in the busyness of life that I live as though Jesus' return is some distant reality.

I forget that Jesus could come back at any time. The prediction, wrong as it was, reminded me about the importance of being prepared for my Savior's return, and it renewed my excitement that it could be any day--even today.

Sometimes when we think of being ready for Jesus' return, we think about what we 'shouldn't' be doing. But being prepared is really about purifying ourselves and becoming more and more like Him (1 John 3:2-3). Being ready for His return requires living according to our Master's will now (Luke 12:37). Will we be prepared when it's time for the real ting?

Keep me praying, keep me trusting
Every step along life's way!
Keep me waiting, keep me watching,
For He may return today!

----
-Look for Christ's return and
you'll live for Christ's glory.

Another thing that indicates that we are in the final days before Christ's return is the fact that our society's lifestyle totally mirrors the lifestyle at the time of Noah.

Even we Christians are caught into the traps-- where we are more focused on eating, sex, buying, selling, marrying, acquiring, etc.. than on God- and this is more worse now than at any other time in history-- Then there is the breakdown of the family and moral codes as well.

We need to "come out" of all of this and re-acquaint ourselves with Jesus Christ -- staying in communion with Him . This is only done by grace, so we need to ask God to enable us to respond to His Spirit and ask Him to help us re-align back with Him.

Thank you, Lil'Aug! Yes, you are RIGHT ON! Like you, I am reminded of Noah calling all the people into the ark. And they LAUGHED AT HIM! That's what many Christians are seeing today. We must BE His witnesses and share what we know to be true.

Please continue with your 'gift of ministry' (edification and helps), online. The Lord bless you for sharing! I've missed you! JESUS IS LORD!

-RISKY BUSINESS

-Luke 9:18-27
---
Whoever desires
to save his life will
lose it, but whoever
loses his life for
My sake will save
it.--Luke 9:24 --
bible
---
AS the worldwide financial crisis deepened in 2010, executives of a global banking firm were invistigated for deceiving their customers about the risk involved in certain investments they were selling. While promising a high rate of return, the banking firm knew that the investments were destined to fail, leaving those who purchased them with nothing.

Deception is nothing new. Jesus described Satan as one who "does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him ...for he is a liar and the father of it" (John 8:44). The enemy of our souls tells us, "live only for the present," when he knows it will result in our eternal loss.

Jesus, on the other hand, did not offer His disciples a life of prosperity and ease but called them to self-sacrifice and identification with Him. After telling them that He would be killed and raised from the dead, Jesus said, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it" (Luke 9:23-24).

There are two voices telling us where to invest our lives. It's risky business to follow the wrong one.

When you hear the Shepherd's voice
As He calls you, "Come to Me,"
In your life make Him your choice
And His faithful follower be.

we won't be trapped by Satan's lies.

---IDENTIFYING ANTICHRISTS~

"Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists, whereby we know that is is the last time."
---[1 John 2:18]
bible / sweats

-EVANGELICALS expect "the" Antichrist to be revealed in the future, yet there are more warnings about "many" antichrists who are currently and actively plotting evil. John lists two specific identifying factors that enable us to spot these "anti" Christs.

"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-christ, that denieth the Father and the Son" (1 John 2:22).

"And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist...and even now already is it in the world" (1 John 4:3).

This much is clear. Anyone who refuses to accept the incarnated Christ as the Son of God is anti-Christ. Perhaps we need to see this term in its simplicity. Those who are "anti" Christ (oppose, reject against, opposite to, before, instead of, in place of) are antichrists!

Peter warns that false prophets and false teachers are also "anti" Christ--and that they may well come from among the Lord's visible Kingdom.

"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction" (2 Peter 2:1).

Thus, we are told that Satan's "ministers also [are] transformed as the ministers of righteousness" (2 Corinthians 11:15).

No wonder we should have caution. This is the last time (days) and we need to be alert!

"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." angelwing (Luke 21:28)~

---SATAN'S STRATEGIC PLAN~

---"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ."
---(2 Corinthians 11:3)
- crackthebook

-THE magnificent book of Genesis sets the foundation for Scripture, revealing the "Roman numerals" upon which the rest of the Bible's message is built. Apart from the actual events of the creation week, the fall of Adam and Eve, and the subsequent horrific growth of sin and the awful judgment of the Flood, the Gospel message would make little sense.

Paul's warning showcases the importance of Satan's strategy to ensnare humanity in the same trap. The Devil's tactics change with time and culture, but the strategy remains the same.

-First. Satan always attempts to make us doubt the Word of God (Genesis 3:1). If we question the accuracy, the meaning, the authenticity, the historicity, or any other shade of "all scripture" (2 Timothy 3:16), then we begin edging onto a slippery slope that will only lead to the next stage.

-Second. Satan always confronts the doubter with a denial of the Word of God (Genesis 3:4). When one begins to deny the authority, the capability, or the will of God to carry out His Word, the slide into the final phase is inevitable.

-Third. Satan ultimately heaps denigration on the Person of God Himself (Genesis 3:5). Once one embraces the thought that the Word of God is not trustworthy and that God either will not or cannot do what He says, it absolutely follows that God is either a liar, a hypocrite, or a capricious and whimsical ogre.

-May God protect us from the "wiles of the devil" (Ephesians 6:11).

--Perilous Times

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come." (2 Timothy 3:1)
---- bible
There has always been some confusion about the biblical term "the last days." Many times the phrase is associated with the Great Tribulation period. Some commentaries appear to relate the era to the final days just before the Lord returns to put an end to the universe.

It does appear, however, that the "last days" began officially at Pentecost when the prophecy of Joel 2:28-29 was fulfilled and verified by Peter in his sermon recorded in Acts 2:14-21. That same Peter reaffirmed that the Lord Jesus "was manifest in these last times for you" (1 Peter 1:20). And, just so there could not be any doubt, the apostle John said simply, "Little children, it is the last time" (1 John 2:18).

Paul's warning to Timothy was that these last days will be filled with "perilous times." The Greek term translated "perilous" is 'chalepos'. Its basic meaning is "stress" or "fierce," coming from a root word meaning to "reduce strength." Other Bible versions translate the term as "dangerous" or "difficult" times. The word could well be understood as "strength-sapping pressure."

The "times" that will be perilous are "seasons" or "periods" that will characterize these "last days." The verses that follow our text contain a list of the kinds of "peril" that will "stress" those who would live godly lives. This warning is not unique. "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" (1 Timothy 4:1).

No wonder we are told: "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution" (2 Timothy 3:12).

---Ungodly Lifestyles

"For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God." (2 Timothy 3:2-4)

The warning in the previous verse to our text for today insists that "perilous times" will characterize the last days. This list describes the types of people who will dominate the last days, and it is frightful.

The "self love" of these people is demonstrated by internal motivations driven by the sin nature. Such people will be "covetous"; the Greek term means "fond of silver." They will also be "boasters" (braggarts) who revel in their sinful behavior. That boasting is driven by a "proud" spirit that is arrogant, willing to show off gaudy ostentations of their conquests. Such behavior, of course, leads them to be "blasphemers," speaking evil with low, vulgar taunts designed to be injurious.

Part of this list includes Greek words with an "un" prefix. There are those who are 'un'-persuadable by parents, obstinate, stubborn, and inflexible. Many are 'un'-thankful, without grace, without thanks, and without any pleasantry. All are 'un'-holy, without the nature to be just or moral. Some are 'un'-affectionate, without a natural love for family or friends. There are also those who are 'un'-reconcilable, not able to make or keep a promise.

Finally, there will be those who are diabolos (like the devil). They are slanderous liars, "incontinent" (without self control), savage "despisers" who are opposed to "those who are good." They will be treacherous, rash, and "high minded" people who are "lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God." Not fun to think about.

-But, "greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

-SATAN IS OUT TO DESTROY YOU ~~

--"Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward" (Hebrews 10:35). If you are a Christian, you are in a fierce war. In fact, you're in a life and death battle for your faith. Satan is determined to shipwreck and destroy the faith of all of God's elect. And the stronger your faith, the greater will be his attack against it.

The Lord desires a people who will hold onto faith even if they suffer the loss of all things. That has always been Satan's job, to wreck the Christians life and to destroy their faith in God.

Paul penned, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7). Think about Paul's testimony at that point. He could say, "Satan sent messengers to fight me in Jerusalem, Damascus, Asia, Ephesus, Antioch, Corinth. But I kept the faith."

"I've been troubled, perplexed on every side, distressed and persecuted, but never cast down. I've never been shaken in my faith. Through it all, my trust in the Lord has never been destroyed."
------
I leave you with words spoken to sustain us in the days ahead.
"Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness; he is gracious and full of compassion, and righteous..Surely he shall not be moved forever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies."

"The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil; he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore" (127:7-8).

-The Lord says to all his children: "Call upon Me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify Me" (50:15). May you remain faithful to call on him in your trial. Cast your cares on him always! ~~~~

--KING OF ALL THE EARTH ~~

“For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.” (Psalm 47:7)

This stirring psalm of praise which celebrates the reign of Christ over all the earth, finds its primary fulfillment in Christ’s second coming and full reign over His Kingdom. The reader is exhorted to “sing praises unto our King” (v. 6). The reign of Christ certainly gives cause for celebration. His arrival forces the psalmist to proclaim, “O clap your hands, all ye people” (v. 1).

What has happened to make this Kingship such cause for celebration? After all, “By him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible or invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him” (Colossians 1:16). He belongs on the Throne. We should expect to find Him there. However, even though there is a sense in which He reigns today, the sad fact remains that another has usurped rule.

This usurper can be none other than Satan, who not only claims rule of the creation for himself but who spoiled the original perfection of the creation which now “groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now” (Romans 8:22). He has encouraged men to accept the mindless concept of evolution, and even denies Christ recognition as Redeemer, as the humanist’s creed “We will save ourselves!” boasts.

But all is not lost! Our text assures us that Christ will reclaim His Kingdom: “He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet. . . . God reigneth over the heathen” (vv. 3, 8). Christ the Creator, the Redeemer, the Heir, has conquered the enemy and soon will assume His rightful throne—“the throne of his holiness” (v. 8), “greatly exalted” (v. 9). Then we shall join the redeemed of the ages, and “shout unto God with the voice of triumph” (v. 1).

--THE CHARACTER OF A GOOD SOLDIER~
(Please Read/ 2 Timothy 2:1-3)

--In 1 Timothy 6:12, Paul calls on believers to “fight the good fight of faith.” Like first-century Christians, believers today are in a three-front war against the flesh, the world system, and Satan.
The military metaphor is a good reminder that believers must prepare for daily spiritual battle. A good soldier ...

**Is strong in Christ. Paul knew that the Lord stood by his side and strengthened him during trials (2 Tim. 4:17). The Holy Spirit provides the courage and power to obey God’s commands, so we can rely upon His might to carry us to victory against any enemy.

**Shares knowledge. The church possesses not only the good news about salvation; it has all the riches of God’s Word. Many people have listened to biblical teaching and experienced the Lord interceding in their lives. To keep those lessons to oneself can leave unbelievers in harm’s way and deprive fellow Christians of necessary wisdom.

**Suffers willingly. Hardship is part of combat and, therefore, part of the Christian experience. Believers will endure adversity and be asked to make sacrifices. It is little wonder, then, that Paul reminds Timothy to stand strong in the Lord and to uphold others (2 Tim. 2:1-2).

A wise commanding officer gives his troops a war cry that encourages their hearts and emboldens their steps. Paul had one, too: “Remember Jesus Christ” (2 Tim. 2:8). Keep in mind that you serve an omnipotent Lord. He stands beside you, takes part in your suffering, and holds you securely through the most formidable battles.

--LIVE LIKE JESUS IS COMING!

"Keep watch,
because you do not
know the day or the
hour." -(Matthew 25:13)-- crackthebook

--I'M INSPIRED BY country singer Tim McGraw's song "Live Like You Were Dying." In it he describes some of the exciting "bucket list" things a man did after receiving some bad news about his health. He also chose to love and forgive people more freely--speaking to them more tenderly. The song recommends that we live well, as if knowing our lives will end soon.

This song reminds us that our time is limited. It's important for us to not put off for tomorrow what we can do today, because one day we'll run out of tomorrows. This is particularly urgent for believers in Jesus, who believe that Jesus may return at any moment (perhaps in the very second you're reading this sentence!). Jesus urges us to be ready, not living like the five "foolish" virgins who were caught unprepared when the bridegroom returned (Matthew 25:6-10).

But McGraw's song doesn't tell the whole story. We who love Jesus will never run out of tomorrows. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die" (John 11:25-26). Our life in Him never ends.

So don't live like you're dying. Because you're not. Rather, live like Jesus is coming. Because He is!

"Lord Jesus, I look forward to the day You'll return. May I use the time I've been given to honor You and to serve others well. Thank You, my Lord, Rock, Redeemer, and Savior. ~ amen~"
