This holistic approach to ideal structure is superior to traditional metal braces.
The DNA Appliance treats the craniofacial, dental, and airway structures as a whole.
"Epigenetic Bio-Modeling" is a new term that describes how certain elements of the jaw and face can be re-aligned for more optimal function instead of just focusing on the teeth. Epigenetic Orthodontics uses a person's natural genes to correct and straighten the teeth without the use of force brackets.
Using a new concept called Epigenetic Orthodontics, the DNA Appliance creates gentle, natural, and holistic changes to your face to achieve the ideal structure for beauty and health.

DNA is a molecule (a group of atoms bonded together) that provides the codes for cellular instructions used in the development and functioning of all living organisms. Cells get their instructions on what to do from DNA which acts sort of like a computer program. The cell is the computer or the hardware and the DNA is the program or code.
Within each string of DNA are sets of instructions called genes. One of the theories on how "deformities" develop is that they are caused by abnormal changes to a person's gene function.
"Epigenetic" refers to the study of changes in gene activity that occurs without altering the DNA. The name "epi" is Greek for "over, outside of or around". In order for cells to survive and maintain the proper function of the organism, individual genes need to be "turned on" or expressed at different times and slowed down or turned off at others. Epigenetics refer to all the other factors that control how and when each gene is expressed, or about what turns genes on and off.
Craniofacial Epigenetics uses a person's natural genes to correct and develop the jaws, teeth, soft tissues and functional spaces, painlessly, using what are called "Biomimetic Appliances".
Biomimetic Oral Appliances mimic natural growth and development - even in adults by harnessing a person's genetic potential. Research shows that changes in the spatial relations of the jaws invokes activation of various genes. In other words, when the position of the jaws is changed using a device, the genes respond to that change. So, using a new generation of biomimetic oral appliances, which can be worn similar to regular oral appliances and orthodontic retainers, dentists and orthodontists can enhance airway, facial, dental and TMJ health.
DNA appliance system invented by Dr. Singh applies light intermittent vibrational forces to your teeth, helping your jaw reach its full growth potential by stimulating your own growth centers. Its purpose is to stimulate the maximum expression of our genetic growth potential.

Since graduating from Emory University School of Dentistry in 1968, the practice of Dentistry has been an evolution, a constant quest to improve his skills and knowledge, always in the direction of increasing patient gains toward better health. After dental school, Dr. Behm joined the service and was an Army Dentist in Thailand during the Vietnam war. Upon returning to the States, he practiced in the Palm Beach FL area, where natural approaches to dentistry first caught his eye, then moved to the Tampa Bay area in the 1990s.
Dr. Behm now practices both neuromuscular (relating to the nerves and muscles of the head and neck) and Natural or Holistic Dentistry, and has not placed a mercury amalgam filling since 1986, and not done a root canal since 1994.
