The Australian Vaccination-skeptics Network, Inc. (AVN) is an organization that was founded in 1994 by 2 chiropractors in conjunction with the families of several vaccine-injured children.   This week, Dr Matthew Fisher (pictured right), CEO of the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia (CAA), sent a message to the AVN asking them to remove the link the from the AVN to the CAA – a link that has existed for decades.  Dr Fisher states, “We have requested that they remove this link to [the CAA] website as a matter of urgency. …The Chiropractors’ Association of Australia does not support the views promoted by the Australian Vaccination-skeptics Network.”  Dr Fisher, who is not himself a chiropractor, seems to be unaware of the support and involvement of the chiropractic community at large to the vital work performed by the AVN.  “Previously,” said Mrs Tasha David, AVN President, “the link stated that the CAA was ‘The peak body, representing chiropractors. Lists chiropractors, research and treatment options.’  “We have now removed the link and instead, the text we have placed on our website is”:  The AVN has removed the link to the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia (CAA) at the  request of Dr Matthew Fisher, CEO. It appears that under Dr Fisher’s leadership, the CAA no longer supports an individual’s right to make free and informed health choices and instead, they have decided to formulate a policy that is supportive of mass vaccination without considering individual susceptibilities, risk factors and wishes. The AVN’s experience over the last 22+ years has been that most chiropractors would disagree with this policy and therefore, we suggest that anyone seeking the care of a chiropractor should contact local practitioners and request their stance on health choice before making an appointment.  Since its establishment, the AVN has supported everyone’s inalienable right to make free and informed health choices without fear of discrimination, financial penalties, bullying or coercion. We sincerely thank chiropractors and other allied health professionals for their courage in working to achieve these same goals.  For further information and interviews, please contact: Mrs Tasha David - 0431 339 449
