There was a sign in a business that said, “We are not what we think we are; what we think--we are.” What are you allowing into your mind and thereby controlling your heart, your actions, and your words? God made you where you can’t think two thoughts at one time. If you’re thinking what’s right, you can’t be thinking what’s wrong. And as you think, you will become. Guard your mind.

Center your mind upon the Lord Jesus. Don’t let the devil take away your pure-hearted devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ. Stay in love with Jesus and there won’t be any room for those filthy, dirty, wicked, lascivious, lustful, and prideful thoughts that bombard us all.

Start today to become more active in marshalling your thoughts and bringing them into obedience to Christ (2 Cor. 10:3-5). We are fighting a battle everyday with the enemy of this world. "Even so, Come Lord Jesus."

~~A PINE TREE WE estimated to be more than one hundred years old is on the ground in our yard. Sixty or seventy feet tall when upright, it was felled by an eight-inch-tall squirrel.
And his or her nesting instincts.

One day we noticed wood chips at the base of the tree. Thirty feet up was a massive squirrel condo--without a permit. Evidence of woodpecker damage suggested the squirrels had help.

But the elbow room the squirrels created in their penthouse destroyed the tree's integrity. Its core. We had to cut it down before it fell and took with it other trees or our house.

Our family once pondered a career decision for me. The job would've provided financially but would've kept me from God's plan. What did we need the money for? Literally, to build a bigger barn. Tripping over that verse from Luke 12 and the parable of the rich man, we knew our answer.

Jesus's parable concluded with the rich man's life ending suddenly that same night, and his wealth useless. Jesus said, "This is the way it will be for those who hoard things for themselves and aren't rich toward God" [Luke 12:21 / CEB].

"Yes, Lord G-D, may our desire be rich toward You. Help us to live a life worthy, for Your glory. In Jesus Name~ amen"
