I have never heard of this before, so I read the article you posted. The first paragraph is a little misleading, but if you read through the entire article, the point is made that if you take vitamin C and selenium together, then take them together with food to ensure proper absorption.

In fact, the article even mentions that vitamin C may improve the bioavailability of selenium. I believe this is true. Research published back in 1989 in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition indicated that ascorbic acid (vitamin C) intake appears to play an important role in maintaining selenium homeostasis (balance) in the body.

As always, I recommend taking a good quality vitamin C supplement that includes natural bioflavonoids, like Vitamin C - Citrus Bioflavonoids. For vitamin E, you want to be sure to get a natural vitamin E (the d-alpha tocopherol form) that also contains selenium (vitamin E works together with the trace mineral selenium). Plus, recent research has shown that vitamin E is actually made up of 8 components, each having different attributes and health benefits. I prefer Vitamin E Complete with Selenium for these reasons.
