I forgot to mention on my last post about my neck feeling really tight all the time, kind of like I have pulled a muscle in it. I have done nothing physical that would have caused this pain. Questionable huh?

hi,Mom In retrospect,a problem with my neck was the first indicator for me of Stage 3 toxicity, I think that's what they call it. My neck went numb on the right side. It coincided with extreme balance problems. I thought it has to be arthritic in origin. I visited Mayo Clinic and a couple of spine surgeons trying to figure a cure. They were useless. I had every test done in the world done and was told I was in great shape and that a spinal fusion would cure none of my problems. Actually I am very lucky that they talked me out of the surgery. Shortly thereafter an Alt/doc told me I must have mercury poisoning. I made the decision to have all my teeth completely restored by a biological dentist immediately. It is now 2 years past removal and I am vastly improved although it still takes me about 5 hours each morning to have a good sense of balance.
Regarding the neck problem- I think if you google something like restless neck syndrome you will learn a bunch. Mine has significantly diminished in the last 2 years, as a matter of fact my arthritic problems dropped dramatically very soon after amalgam removal. Mercury can get stored in any organ, bone or tissue in the body I think. In our case , maybe due to previous damage or scar tissue, some got stored in our cervical vertebrae. I know in my case I had some concussions and whiplash from youthful sporting and auto incidents.
Good luck
Al

I've also got the neck and shoulder tightness. In the very beginning, shortly before I started waking up with a sore neck, I remember having the feeling that my head was just too heavy for my neck to hold it up. Has anyone else felt this way?

I get pain in my neck and shoulders for no apparent reason. It feels like I pulled the muscles.

I had the same thing. For me, it was my muscles contracting so much because I was very deficient (my own evaluation-I had most all symptoms and improved greatly upon taking enough mg) in magnesium. I also used heating pads to help the muscles relax.

I often wake up with a tense neck. I think in my case it's due to bruxism and sleeping in awkward positions, aswell as craning my neck a lot of the time when I look at the computer. I sometmes get "shocks" in the muscle, but I have a bad bite which can cause that - my teeth don't fit together very well at all, which can cause a lot of stress when I eat.
I used to think that the shock I got beneath my root canal filled tooth was due to the amalgam, but I've had it a couple of times since having the tooth extracted, so I don't know if that was it now. My aunt (not blood related) gets it aswell, and the dentist said it's not the fillings, which she was concerned about also.

Hi Demi, There's a book called "Its All in Your Head" by Hal Huggins. He states that often dentists either are unaware or are mislead by the ADA about mercury toxicity from amalgams. It would be a conflict of interest for the association to acknowledge such information.
