Official Cry for HelpDear Subscriber,
Okay, this is officially a cry for help (issued begrudgingly).
"Help!"
A friend of mine had to give me a “talking to” a few days ago,
regarding me asking for further funding for my project, “The
Mirror.” In short, he said it was stupid for me to NOT tell people
the situation, so they could help if they wanted to. (I would say
the same thing, if it was about anyone other than me.) For months
now I have been working full time on the project, thanks to many
people who have already supported it, but thanks to one person in
particular (whom I won’t name) flinging a hefty enough pile of
money at me to cover all my basic bills for that time. But a pile
of other expenses, some foreseen and some unforeseen, has gotten me
back to being dead broke. Yippee.
“The Mirror” will be given away for free to anyone and everyone
once it is finished, so supporting it is not an investment (unless
you count “investing” in trying to make the world a lot less
screwed up). When it’s finished, it will pay me exactly nothing.
But I WILL finish it, one way or the other. It just might take many
YEARS, instead of many months, if I have to spend most of my time
and effort doing other things that actually pay my bills. In case
anyone hasn’t yet seen the brief trailer/teaser for the thing, here
it is:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqJvLH2NTxELots of people seem excited about it (as am I), and want to see it
finished as soon as possible (as do I). If you want that bad enough
to fling some bread my way (figuratively, preferably) that would be
greatly appreciated. And if you want to spread this message around
to other people who might want to help, that would be extra
awesome. (If you don’t want to support it, don’t. Voluntary
associations are cool that way. In fact, the internet makes it
extra cool, because unlike being rudely asked in person, you don’t
even have to say “no” or give a reason. Just ignore this message.)
If it DOES sound like something you want to support, contributions
can be sent…

Okay, enough of this pathetic begging. (Grumble, grumble.) Time to
get back to work on the thing!
