--HIS PEACE AND JOY IN SUFFERING~~

---BIBLE MEDITATION:
“For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps.”
-- (1 Peter 2:21)

--DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:

--CHRIST SUFFERED FOR YOU.

“But I don’t want to suffer for Him.”

You’re going to suffer anyway—whether you are saved or lost. That is life in a fallen world.

When you submit to Jesus Christ and obey the Word of God, He is going to arch a rainbow of hope over your suffering. He is going to write Romans 8:28 over what you are going through. You will know that your current trial is for your good.

--ACTION POINT:
Surrender and submission to God is the only way to get His grace and power over your life. Joy, peace, and worry-free days are ahead for the one who lays his life down for the glory of God. Suffering will come, but joy will follow.~~

-Most of us like to read 'The Beatitudes' (Matthew Chapter 5:1-12). When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on a mountainside and sat down. With His disciples, he began to teach them saying:

'Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn,
For they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek
For they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and
Thirst for righteousness,
For they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
For they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they will be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted
Because of righteousness,
For theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven."

(vs.11)-"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in Heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."~~

Yes, we are overcomers through Jesus Christ. We will be persecuted, hated by all men, ridiculed, and mocked. They did it to Jesus, should we expect less? We are to 'Walk in His Footsteps." Great is your reward in Heaven! Secular people live for the here and now. Christians look forward to a Heavenly Home. Eternity with Jesus awaits us. (see Hebrews 11:1-16) We walk by faith and not by sight. God has prepared a City for us. Shout for JOY! For great is your reward in Heaven! Jesus paid our sin-debt by dying on that old rugged Cross. Keep your eyes on Him. Call out to Jesus, "Light the Fire Again!" / Brian Doerksen~ ~~
