the doctors who prescribe Armour in the UK are Dr Barry Peatfield-Durrant and Dr Gordon Skinner. I think they both give mobile clinics around the country. Details attached but not sure how up to date the phone numbers are.

As it's so difficult to find a doctor who is not wedded to the TSH test, some people go it alone. This is what the Natural Thyroid Hormone website is all about - a lot of people realising they have been mistreated by doctors, and self-treating by doing their own tests, ordering their own meds and monitoring their own symptoms.. I did before I was started by my endo on Armour. But you have to do your research, be aware of adrenal and ferritin issues, and listen closely to your body. You can order Thyroid-S over the net - it is a generic version of Armour. But I wouldn't recommend doing this until you have checked your adrenal status, which is probably not good given that you have mercury toxicity and have been hypo for a long time. You need to deal with your adrenals before you switch onto Armour or Thyroid-S, or your adrenals will peg out. Do you have a constant flu-like feeling / internal shaking? These are all signs of low adrenals that won't cope with powerful thyroid hormone. Once the adrenals are supported, you slowly add the thyroid hormone at a low dose, and increase the dose every 2 weeks until you feel well.

I hope this is helpful. You are not the first person I have given UK contacts to. It seems very difficult to find an enlightened doctor there. But you are suffering more than you need. Let me know how you go.
