2 yrs ago, i had a small piece of amalgam lodgd in my gum, an xray showed it up and i was getting blistering on my gum where it was trying to come to the surface, I was waiting for my appt at the hospital to get it removed when one morning i realised it had come to the surface and i had swallowed it. You should ask your dentist after your treatment for more xrays just in case. Dawn.

very good point. I thought I had some amalgam in my gum the other day, but was just a cut as it's gone now. I'm convinced I have some amalgam underneath a composite filling and am going to get my dentist to look at it thoroughly. I think I will need complete reassurance when all the work is done that there's no more amalgam in my mouth.
