I'm not sure if it has sulfur. I believe it does get absorbed. Taking epsom salts baths at night made me feel agitated and wired like I had had a lot of caffeine. I thought it would relax me like the oral magnesium. Maybe I was using too much in the bath.

All the sources I've found in the UK for epsom salts seem expensive. I found Amazon UK selling one that said to put a whole kilogram in the bath, the whole quantity they sold was a kilogram, and it cost about £8! An £8 bath seems pretty unreasonable.
Can I ask where you get yours from?
Linda.

yes epson salt does contain sulfer ,so you can use it if you do not react badly to sulfer products ,but start out with a very small amount and see how you react to it ,also keep in mind that epson salt is a mild laxative ,so don't go to far from the house (just in case).if used in a bath it will absorb through the skin and is a good source of magnesium

Boots [UK] do 500g boxes for about 1.50. (Epsom Salts [magnesium sulphate] - green/white packaging.)
Cant use it myself [tried a handful in bath, footbath]... pre-seizure crap starts pretty quickly. Guess its a case of try a bit and see how u react.
Take care Virago

25kg from ebay . . . probably would cost more in postage LOL. What's the source?
The Boots brand sounds like it might be good to try, and if it makes me feel worse rather then better, then not much money lost.
I can take pretty high doses of magnesium without any trouble so I should be OK with that. Not as sure about the sulphur, but I don't have huge troubles with sulphurous foods. Sometimes they do make me feel anxious.
Thanks for the tips everyone, I'll give this a try when I get the chance.

I use the Boots Brand you get it in a big box and its ace. If you buy it at any other chemist you usually only get a little tub of it and its much more expensive. I find it is very calming to have in my bath now and again, just like a spa bath. When I had my fillings first out I used it all the time.
